Hometown

I once loved this place

I loved a lot, maybe too much

I never called it what it was

Cause if I did, I felt that they would judge

I felt at home

But never really welcome

Never feeling right

Asking myself what I've done

I moved away from this place

And found a new place to be from

They didn't hear me there

They all had gone numb

I would do that too

If I could

Cause those comments hurt from the top of my head

To the bottom of my foot

Now I'm scared for a reason

This was my hometown

I felt welcome and good here

Before you decided to burn it all down

You said sorry after

You didn't realise that it'll make me feel like that

But I don't care, cause now I'll hate you forever

And I'll always be mad.

With that one, I wanted to try out a new and kinda more phoebe bridgers like style. Reading through it now, it reminds me of the poems in my early days as a poet. Althoug I like it, I think I'm gonna stay with my other style, it just feels more authentic.
