Two souls

10 1 3

There's a ring in my pocket

I wanted to give it to you

And expected you to say yes

I really hoped you'd do

I prepared everything

I got out the wine

Hoping that later that night

With friends and champagne

We'll dine

You didn't want any of this

You turned me down instead

Said that I was a completely different person

Than I was when we met

And suddenly, one soul

Turns into two

Cause I'm not me anymore

But you're still you

Two souls

Met by destiny, torn apart by fate

Like all the time

I asked too late

Souls meet

Hearts stay

But our souls never really met

And my heart caught a stray.
