αυяσяα groaned, brushing pine tree thorns off her legs and detangling her hair with her fingers. The girl sat up, scanning her surroundings. Why do I always end up somewhere random on the ground. Just my luck. She thought to herself.

Wrapping her arm around herself, checking to make sure she had her backpack, she let out a breath of relief. Woe whimpered in happiness, pouncing around in the leaves as she sniffed the air. Aurora giggled at the sight of her over happy lion.

Standing up, Aurora closed her eyes trying to connect to the signals from the air and wind to gain a sense of direction or find out where she could be. As she stood thinking, the golden rays from the sun radiated off her skin, warming her up. Aurora shot open her eyes, feeling the wind coming from the west, and sensing a strong current disruption near, meaning she's close to the ocean. She realized that she is somewhere off the east coast, close to Olympus. The pressure being slightly higher, she connected her location to be in Long Island, closer to the ocean. Where exactly? Aurora was still working on using her air powers with her space powers and connecting those to her witchcraft. Though, she started to feel a pull of warmth leading her North. Aurora decided to follow, the aura and warmth reminding her of her brother who she already missed, but would never admit.

Aurora's blonde hair flowed over her shoulders as the slight wind caught her locks. The blonde followed the aura, twirling her bow from Artemis as she watched the gold accents of the base dance with the sun. Aurora and Woe paused as they heard rustling of the leaves to their right. Woe seemed to understand what it was by scent.

"What is it μαχητής?" Aurora wispered with Woe's greek name as she kept her eyes locked in the area the sound came from.

Manticore. Woe growled.

A manticore. What would a family descendant of Woe be doing out here? Aurora questioned.

The manticore crawled quickly to the duo, hissing at them and broadening its shoulders to look more intimidating. Aurora took a protective stance, pulling out an arrow from her quiver. The manticore was quicker, whipping its tail over its own head. The black spikes of the tail shooting out at Aurora. She dodged them, rolling to the side and regaining her stance just as fast. Woe quick stabbed the manticore's foot, biting it. Growing annoyed, the manticore used the force of its paw to shove Woe out of the way, limping on the foot that relieved impact. Woe clashed to the ground, letting out a small whimper as she returned. Aurora launched the arrow at the manticores eye, piercing into the corner of its dark eyes. It huffed in anger, charging at the girl. The monster swung around, attempting to hit Aurora with its tail once again, skimming her hand. She yanked her hand back, pulling out a small dagger from her jean short pocket, jabbing the manticore at its neck. It roared, growing more rage. Aurora regrouped, strategizing a way to outsmart the beast.

She beamed, focusing the center of air to her fingertips and pushing off the ground, landing in a tree. The monster was knocked back by the force of air. Aurora advanced, notching another poisonous arrow into her bow. The manticore roared in frustration, Aurora aiming the arrow, releasing it at the right second. As she had timed, the arrow flew into the manticores mouth, causing the creature to choke and stumble. The manticore slowly turned to a gold dust, disappearing.

Aurora inhaled a sharp breath, regaining consciousness of the world. She jumped down from the tree, her black laced boots landing on a patch of grass near Woe. She ran over to Woe, kneeling down to examine her best friend for injuries. Woe looked clean, but worried.

Miss your hand. Woe expressed nudging her arm with her nose.

"Don't worry about me Woe, it's just a little scratch." Aurora confessed, hoping that's all it was.

That was pretty badass though, I have to admit Miss Aurora. Woe revealed as her admiration displayed from her tone.

Aurora stifled a laugh, containing her composure. She patted the dirt off her shorts and black battle corset top that Artemis designed for her during duels with a built in chest plate. Aurora silently thanked her sister for such a beautiful yet useful piece of clothing.

The two went back on track from the aura that reappeared once again.
