ℓυкє stirred, the scene of his best friend's death replaying in his mind on repeat. He couldn't escape it. Giving up on sleep, Luke slid up into an upright position on the bed he was being treated in. Not recalling bringing himself here, he looked around in confusion as he tried to identify where he was. The last thing he remembered was seeing Thalia turned into a tree, then black.
"How are you feeling?" A tall blonde boy questioned, handing Luke a glass filled with a thick liquid. Gulping down the nectar, Luke felt fuzzy, the taste reminding him of when his mother was sane and their Saturday night movie marathons. Exiting his trance, Luke blinked staring at the boy.
"Will Solace, son of Apollo. I'm a healer." Will stated so Luke felt more comfortable to talk.
"Luke Castellan, son of Hermes. Sorry where am I?" Luke replied to the tanned figure.
"The big house infirmary, you'll be good to go after you eat the ambrosia next to your bed." Will gestured to the table next to Luke's bed. Nodding in understanding, Luke reached over to grab the ambrosia, popping it into his mouth. Will then left, sensing his duties as completed.
Luke sat up, his headache disappearing. He walked out the room he was in to find Annabeth sitting on a chair curled up. He sat down silently next to her. The two sat there for a moment honoring their sister. Luke got up, reaching out his hand for Annabeth. Both of them knew Thalia wouldn't want them to sulk over her, she would have wanted to be strong for her and continue on with life while thinking about her passing in a healthy way.
Luke opened the screen door, allowing Annabeth to go through first. (gentlemen behavior) They had a brief talk with Chiron about camp and the centaur had called over Grover to introduce them to what camp has to offer along with their cabins.
Grover entered, not really knowing what to say. He deeply wished he could've done something to save her, feeling failure of his purpose. But he concluded on not mentioning her right now.
Grover gave them a quick tour of camp, coming up to the rope and parkour course with sword fighting between the challenge to get ready for the game in a few hours.
"Over here is one of the training areas. We have a game of capture the flag going on today, you guys are welcome to come and watch. I don't expect you to want to participate after just recovering." Grover trailed off, trying to distract his friend's minds.
"Who's that?" Luke interrupted Grover's rant, his eyes drawn toward a shorter girl with long blonde hair, and green eyes.
"Aurora Castro. You don't want to mess with her trust me." He pronounced. "Been there done that." Grover mumbled the last part.
"What's so scary about a 5'3 blonde girl?" Luke scoffed. (Is he dumb blonde stereotyping her rn)
"I wouldn't say that aloud if I were you. You'll learn to understand once you see the fierce girl fight. Best swordswoman in camp, better than any other demigod, even males." Grover explained as the three made their way to the cabins. Annabeth was silent, observing in peace. Luke rolled his eyes, ignoring her as they approached the cabins.
"Since you guys are claimed, Annabeth your cabin is here on the left, cabin 6. And yours Luke is right down the path here, cabin 11." The half goat boy directed. "I'll um let you guys get settled in." He commented, unsure of what to do now.
Luke and Annabeth parted ways, going to their appropriate cabins. They each adapted to their new homes quite easily.

After resting and taking a shower, the two walked down to the watching area for the game of capture the flag. Luke wanted to see the hype on the girl.

Authors note-I swear Luke's chapters will get longer but I want to introduce capture the flag from Auroras perspective then do Luke's since there isn't much going on for Luke atm.
