"And it was so hot in there Travis. I couldn't breathe. And if I couldn't breathe, they wouldn't be able to either. I tried. I really tried Trav!" He could hear her desperation and tears from the speaker and it made his heart break.

'I know you did Tay, I know. None of this is your fault ok."

'It is my fault Travis. Someone has died. A beautiful young girl has died all because she came to my stupid concerts. is hold have never agreed to do the show tonight, I just. I wish it was me who had died. At least I would have deserved it."

"NO" Travis shouted firmly down the phone. Not in a way to scare her, but to shake some sense into her. He wished he could be there with her. To hold her and remind he rot the beauty she paints into this world. But he couldn't. He was contracted to stay in Kansas City for the game and wouldn't see Taylor until she was back in the country in 10 days time. "Don't say things like that. Don't you ever say that again Tay do you understand me."

She looked up at him with blotchy red eyes and a swollen, puffy face. "The world, my world is a much better place because you are in it. I couldn't imagine myself without you Tay. You are my world. If I could come to you right now, you know I would be on that plan quicker than a heartbeat. But I can't."

'I know Trav, and I don't blame you for having to stay home. You have to work, and so do I."

"Has Tree told you what is going to happen?" Travis asked and Taylor shook her head.

"Not really. We have crafted a statement to put out on social media and I think tomorrow's show is cancelled because it's just too warm and risky to safely perform or attend. I already have people shouting death threats to me outside the hotel room. Tree has told me under no circumstances am I allowed to leave this hotel room."

"And I agree with her." Travis warned. "So don't be getting any sneaky ideas." Taylor laughed at this. Sometimes Travis acted just as fiercely protective as her dad. "Now are you sure you will be ok, or do you want me to stay on the phone with you until you fall asleep?"

'Can you stay on the phone Trav? I know you have a long day tomorrow but I just need to hear your voice and see your face."

"Of course Tay, you know I always will. If I cannot be with you, I will watch over you." He blew her a kiss as he watched her snuggle into the duvet.

"And Trav, if they do get me, promise me something. Promise me that you won't ever forget me."Travis heard her mutter something but couldn't distinguish whether it was what she had actually meant or whether she had just been dreaming. He couldn't even ask her as he watched her flutter her eyelids shut with sleep hitting her finally. He knew that it wouldn't take her long to fall asleep, crying would do that to you. When he was satisfied that she had been asleep for a while, he cancelled the call and text both Tree and Scott the same text.

Travis: Hey, I have just gotten off of the phone with Taylor. She is in a really bad place, crying hysterically and wishing it had been her that had died. She seems ok now, I have been on the phone with her since she has been asleep but I need to get to bed before practise and upcoming games so if you guys could keep an eye on her and make sure that she is ok please x

He walked up towards his room from the living room, settling down into bed finally. Taylors side of the bed felt cold and he couldn't wait until she was moved into the new house with him fully. Some of her stuff would still live in her apartment in New York and her house in Los Angeles but her important things and things she needed in her daily life would live in their house in Kansas City. He had moved the stuff that Taylor had in his old room into their room in the new house. Taylor had just said it would be easier for both of them for Travis to do that whilst she was away and he had agreed.
