Sorry for the long wait, just got done with first semester of the new year. Marry Christmas and happy holidays. Love you all much appreciated!
Something was wrong with me....I was feeling tired after breaking through whatever hold Circe had on me. But I wasn't worried about that I had broken free that's more than enough, right now I was standing in the center of the ship watching Percy. He was so confident, The queen Anne's Revenge responded to his every command. His smile fell when we were a way from the danger.
I remember back when I faced her. she beat me so easily us easily. Her control was strong she played with my head again so easily. I clinched my hand into a fist, I needed to be more careful when it comes to facing strong magic again.
We sailed through the night, my eyes were fighting to stay awake. I felt sick in the stomach again. My skin felt like bugs were crawling on me-something about this feel to familiar. I sat at the highest point of the ship. looking out towards the vast sea. I fought against my sleepiness but it was winning most of the battle.
Annabeth tried to help Percy keep lookout, but sailing didn't agree with her. After a few hours rocking back and forth, her face turned the color of guacamole and she went below to lie in a hammock.
The drowsiness feeling made unable to focus on the sea, but Percy swore he spotted something reptilian. Once he saw a Nereids too. Sometime after midnight, Annabeth came up the deck. we were passing a volcano island. The sea bubbled and steamed around the shore.
"One of the forges of Hephaestus," I heard her say. "Where he makes his metal monsters."
"Like the bronze bulls?" Percy asked.
She nodded. "Go around. Far around."
Percy steered clear of the island, and soon it was just a red patch of haze behind us. No point being up here on the lookout, so climbed nearly falling but i used my wings to catch me. I landed beside Percy.
"The reason you hate Cyclopes so much . . . the story about how Thalia really died. What happened?" He asked
It was hard to see her expression in the dark.
"I guess you deserve to know," she said finally. "The night Grover was escorting us to camp, he got confused, took some wrong turns. You remember he told you that once?"
Percy nodded.
"Well, the worst wrong turn was into a Cyclops's lair in Brooklyn."
"They've got Cyclops in Brooklyn?" he asked.
"You wouldn't believe how many, but that's not the point."
"not anymore" I said as they both looked at me. "Don't want to talk about it."
"This cyclops, he tricked us. He managed to split us up inside this maze of corridors in an old house in Flatbush. And he could sound like anyone, Percy. Just the way Tyson did aboard the Princess Andromeda. He lured us, one at a time. Thalia thought she was running to save Luke. Luke thought he heard me scream for help. And me . . . I was alone in the dark. I was seven years old. I couldn't even find the exit."
She brushed the hair out of her face. "I remember finding the main room. There were bones all over the floor. And there were Thalia and Luke and Grover, tied up and gagged, hanging from the ceiling like smoked hams. The Cyclops was starting a fire in the middle of the floor. I drew my knife, but he heard me. He turned and smiled. He spoke, and somehow he knew my dad's voice. I guess he just plucked it out of my mind. He said, 'Now, Annabeth, don't you worry. I love you. You can stay here with me. You can stay forever.'"
tch disgusting
Percy shivered. The way she told it-even now, six years later-freaked him out worse than ghost story he'd heard. "What did you do?"
