Roni was my first best friend. I never understood what she saw in me. I could be downright cruel to her at times, but she was loyal, sympathetic, everything a Hufflepuff should be even when I didn't deserve it. I never deserved it.
She was the first to begin unravelling my parent's beliefs that they had instilled within me. Unfortunately for my parents, I was an easy change of heart when no one else would talk to me. The Muggle-born did, though despite it all. Of course, no one would understand, so I kept quiet and so did my Slytherin classmates. I'm unsure what made them remain silent on the matter. Perhaps it was fear, or respect for old friendships or perhaps it wasn't worth the punishment they would receive for speaking out of turn. Pansy had ample opportunity, but never said a word and it was well known she didn't care for me.
It was a strange, silent agreement that it wouldn't be mentioned.
