I leant on the door to the ward contemplating yesterday, I had gotten back to my room yesterday and just kinda died. Sleeping like a log without much time to think, left me this morning with a lot on my mind. I kept thinking about that y/n girl from last night, how strange she was, how odd the professor was about her, how he talked about her, it was all a little odd.

Hetty was sweeping up close to me so I stuck up a conversation,

"Hetty?"

"Yes?" She was slightly annoyed I was disrupting her work but she kept cleaning as we spoke,

"You've worked here longer than I have right?"

"Yes,"

"You've been here a decent amount of time?"

"Yes," she sighed, "Where are you going with this Jack?"

"I mean... You've known the professor longer than I have,"

"I guess,"

"Would you say you know much about him?"

"Not really, he's a very private person,"

"I guess," I nodded, "But... did you know he had a granddaughter?"

"Well, I know he had a wife,"

"Ohh... I had no idea he had a wife,"

"He did, she died years ago,"

".. But they had children?"

"Four,"

"Oh!" I was a tad surprised, "Four? Really?"

"Yes,"

"hu... he doesn't seem like a married with four kids kinda person,"

"I guess he can come off that way," she shrugs,

"But he has a granddaughter?"

"Several I think..."

"Hu.. you uhhh ever met any of them?"

"No, I don't think so." she says,

"You ever heard about y/n?"

"Can't say I have," she says, "why? What's got you so curious about the professor?"

"It's nothing,"

"Why don't you just ask him yourself?"

"You think he's sober?"

"Fair enough, but go on I'm sure you can find something to do Doctor Dawkins."

"Thank you Hetty," I rolled my eyes before getting on with some work,
