He could barely face me, barely face this idea. I know he was fearful it was written across his face.

"...She is not well doctor Dawkins,"

"I know, but will you at least let me try to help her,"

"Why?"

"Becuase I'm a doctor I want to help-"

"There must be a hundred people in this hospital," He stopped me, "And yet, you have such an interest in my granddaughter,"

I sighed, "I do."

"Why?" He demanded,

"I admit, I have...  a fondness for her." I admit, "She has often snuck out, and I have not told you, I have spent time with her, grown fond of her, grown to care for her." I explained,

"So this is personal?"

"Somewhat." I nodded, "But I would still want to help her even if I didn't,"

"She can't ever love you... no matter how you feel for her, she will not love you, she can't be with you," he explained,

"What if she could... what if you let me help her, make her better." I explained, "What if she could love me... would you let me be with her?"

"It's not possible-"

"But if it was."

"Yes." He nodded, "If you can fix her, make her better, and keep her safe."

"I promise, I will do everything I can for her Y/n."

"Alright..."

"Thank you," I nodded,

He nodded solemnly, "But I shall call in her specialist to help too,"

"I do not need some freak from the asylum," I protested,

"I do not care!" He yelled, "She is my granddaughter, and you will respect my decisions on her treatment."

"Yes sir..." I sighed,

"You're confidence... can be a hindrance dawkins," He warned, "She is not a case to boost your ego and your records she is my granddaughter. And what I say goes."

"Yes sir."

"Her doctor will be brought in from the asylum to assist, but neither of you will do anything unless you go through me," He warns, "And If she can be fixed, if she is better, I will allow her out of her room,"

"And to be with me?"

"...If that is what she wants," He nodded,

"Thank you, professor," I nodded, "M-May I see her? Please,"

"Not until her specialist arrives," He said,

"Yes sir," I sighed,

"You may go," he told me,

I nodded and headed for the door,

"Doctor Dawkins?"

"Yes Professor," I turned back,

"If she sneaks out and you do not tell me again, I will see if that you never work in this country again." He glared,

I nodded,

"I mean it. You are not to be alone with my daughter, you are not to see her without permission, do you understand me doctor dawkins?"

"Yes sir..." I muttered,

"Do you understand!"

"Yes sir," I answered,

"Good,"

"And if she escapes her room again, and comes to find me?"

"You bring her to me,"

"That will break her heart... her trust-"

"I don't care. You are not to be alone with my grandaughter,"

"Yes sir," I sighed as I headed out and up to my room I sighed and lay on my bed running a hand through my hair and down my jaw,

Even in this small single bed... I missed her, it felt empty without her, my body absentmindedly always stayed over on 'my side' of the bed, I turned over a little and lay looking at where she sleeps when she's up here with me,

"Don't worry little duck, I'll keep you safe," I cooed hugging my pillow a little, "I'll make you better, and keep that horrible asylum doctor away from you, and I promise... as soon as you well, We can make some plans, real plans about being together," I smiled hugging the pillow tightly inhaling a little on her side where it still smelt of her,
