!TRIGGER WARNING!
MENTION OF
BLOOD
AND
DEATH

_-_Andy's POV_-_

He's here he's here he's here. Is all I can think after Chris ran into the room shouting the worst news ever. I sank to the floor and started to hyperventilate. Out of the corner of my eye I can see the squirrel, Rick, almost instantly run up to me, when he reached me he turned his gaze up to where my eyes are buried in my arms and knees.
His big, round eyes that seemed to hold a deep understanding. I met the squirrel's gaze, and suddenly felt a sense of calm wash over me. It was as if the squirrel's gentle, knowing look said, "Your safe, I will keep you safe."
For some reason that was all it took for me to calm down. My panic began to dissipate, replaced by a sense of peace and connection. I took a deep breath, and the squirrel's tail twitched in a reassuring nod.

The second I broke out of my panic, Eira didn't wait to see if I was ok, "Stand up there's a hatch you can use to get out of here!" That's a good idea, I like that. "Wait-" Lilith started but was cut off by Chris "No time, move move move!" "No." Lilith said stopping Chris in her tracks. Lilith turned to Eira, "Why did you say-" She started but was yet again cut off. By a loud crash "For goodness sakes! Can anyone let me finish with what I have to say!?" Lilith shouted throwing her hands up in defeat.

"Princess, I believe that it's rude to raise your voice that loudly. And to think you would have learned it from your mother, she should tell you off... Oh wait, she's dead." No.. While panicking I scrambled away from the wall and towards the back of the room, Rick following me. Then I think how it was so stupid of me to think that doing this will keep me safe. In the corner of my eye I see Chris raise a spear, as well as Eira taking a small dagger out of her sleeve. She soon after took two more and forcefully put one into my hands. Then she motioned for Lilith to come to her.

That's when I saw him behind her. His dark hair and scared face. I recalled the day I had asked about it, I had gotten badly beaten for being disrespectful. I wait for Lilith to move, to run away. But she doesn't. At this point he had gotten close enough to breath down her neck.
Slowly she started to slowly sway back and forth, the motion was almost invisible. Then his fist rose up and as it went down the world went slow, my eyes went wide and realized that I needed to help her. He would hurt her, I couldn't let that happen.

Suddenly my feet were moving faster then my brain, and I was racing towards her as Chris raised her spear again I must have missed her put it down and launched it towards him. Then as if it happened all at once, Lilith crumpled to the ground, Chris's spear hit him directly in the arm, then a horrendously blood curling came from him.

I tried to pick Lilith up when I reached her but either I wasn't strong enough or she was too heavy. She would kill me if she found out that I had thought about it that way. In the corner of my eye I see The Darkness rip the spear out of his arm, throwing it on the floor and charging towards Chris. In the other corner of my eye I can see a bright flash of white. Thought confusing it's the least of my concerns right now.

Then Rick is by my side along with a smaller girl with raven black hair, and streaks of dark blue, purple, green, and gold. Who shares a crazy resemblance to Liliths little bird friend Sperantia. I'm in complete shock seeing Rick again. I think about pinching myself to see if I'm delusional or not, but the girl is already helping me up and Rick is picking up Lilith. He smiles and mouths something that I can't make out.

We start to move towards where Chris and Eira were once standing. Only to find that Eira is rushing towards us. Behind her I can see Chris fall to the ground as he thrust her spear into her chest. Then picking it back up and thrusting it into her head.

Seeing this I became extremely lightheaded and sick to my stomach. I know that this image of Chris Stormheart's finale stand will plague my memories and my dreams.

"Move quickly, I will distract him as you run." Eira says forcing a satchel into my arms. "There's three weapons, some food and medicine, and a large sum of money, as well as an address you need to go to. Show them the card that is attached to the address. They will keep you safe and help you find your friends. Rick, Sperantia you keep them safe. You hear me, keep, them, safe." She says with force. "They are our only way to stop him." She speaks fast as she leads us towards a bookshelf in the far left corner of the room.

She pulls a book up and the bookcase opens. She starts to push us into the small room. "The tunnel leads to the middle of the forest. Go up the ladder and start to move north to find the safe house. The only thing you stop for is to make sure Lilith is alright. Do you understand?" With this said she looks directly at me. I'm frozen what I just saw was horrifying. After a moment I mustered up just enough strength to nod in confirmation that I would obey her order.

She looks back to see that he was finally done with Chris's body and was removing the spear from her head. Eira backs up giving one last hard stare and slams the bookcase door shut. Rick starts to move us back just as the spear comes through the door. An inch further and it would have lodged straight into my chest. Stained with blood, a mix of Chris Stormheart's blood and most likely Eira's blood. The guardian of the Heartwood Tree and her protector are dead. Gone at the hands of the monster that I created. "Let's start to move. We need to move quickly. He may not have seen us entire but it's not long before he comes through here." Rick whispers. I didn't remember missing his voice this much but hearing it again brings me so much joy despite the horrifying circumstances. Sperantia places a hand on my shoulder and starts to lead me away from the blood tipped spear that came so close to my chest.

I had a lot of fun writing this.
Also fun fact; Chris is technically called a "redshirt" character, meant to be a sympathetic figure who gets killed off to advance the plot or evoke emotions from the readers. It's a bold move, but it can definitely create an impactful story moment! Just be prepared for potential backlash from readers who get attached to her.
Take this knowledge and do whatever it is you wish to do with it.

Be kind
Be considerate
Be thoughtful
Be loving
Be a good person!
