Chapter 14: Truth Be Told

Fall's POV

I pushed Evan and Joshua inside the house and locked the door, then took a deep breath as Evan helped Joshua to the couch. I followed them and sat on the couch.

"What happened?" Evan asked, and I folded my arms, tapping my elbow fast. "Why isn't Candace with us?" Joshua asked, but I continued tapping my elbow.

I remained silent for the most part, feeling worried hearing their questions, unsure how to tell Evan. I hoped Joshua had seen what happened or if he was still hurt from Delirious. The same girl I almost murdered was there as well. Hopefully, Candace had it under control.

Before I could get up, Evan pulled on my arm and motioned for me to go outside. I looked at him with a questioning look but got up and made my way outside.

"I'll be back, Joshua," I said with a slight smile.

Evan followed me and closed the door. I sat down in one of the chairs as Evan sat beside me. I heard him take in a deep breath and sigh a bit.

"Something wrong, handsome?" I asked, making him shake his head. "I know everything..."

Candace's POV

I quickly made my way towards the male and stopped, examining the scene. I silenced everything and tried to listen out for him. I closed my eyes, letting my body control itself. When I opened them, I grinned.

"I will end you myself," I said as I held out my hand, and an octagon showed.

My bear turned into a staff and rested on my back. I felt my clothes change as I wore a cloak and my horns showed. I quickly took out my staff and made a star.

"Blast," I said as a beam of light shot out, and I started spinning around. "You can't hide from me, hot shot," I growled, but still couldn't see him.

'Was my body wrong for once... Oh well." I stopped before running out of energy and let him easily get me.

Once the beam stopped, I suddenly saw something smokey coming towards me. It took me a while to realize it was him, coming back from being blasted. But he wasn't his usual self.

"Shit," I mumbled, aiming my staff towards him. My gloves glowed green as I turned my staff into a sword, which flowed green fire. "You are one of his minions," I growled as I swung the sword towards him quickly.

He dodged each attack and grabbed my sword, breaking it. I eyed him breaking the sword my bear was once in, feeling rage building up.

I rushed towards him with a war cry, throwing punches and kicks. He easily dodged them all and grabbed my leg. We both looked at each other as he smirked and spun me around like a toy. I growled, trying to regain my composure, but being in the air made me dizzy.

I felt my body going limp as my vision started to fade. I tried to stay awake until I felt my body hit a building, forming a crater.

"Argh... Is that all you got, handsome?" I asked as I peeled my body off the building. I heard little cackles but never stopped listening. Once I peeled myself off the building, I stayed floating but saw him shaking and yelling.

"What- What is he doing?!" I watched him groan in agony, his body glowing red, then exploding. "Damn you, Dark!" I landed on the ground, whining and hissing from the pain.

"I shouldn't have left him," I said, realizing I needed to go back.

"C-Candace?" I looked at the person who called my name, eyes widening with joy as I rushed and hugged him. "Oh my gosh! I missed you so much!" I yelled out as he giggled. "I missed you too, baby."
