Until I Found You

We enetered the Arena to see the gang already impatiently waiting for us with tickets in their hands.

"Where have you guys been?" Harsh asked like a child.

"We are here na, Let's go in now." Shanaya said waving a hand infront of him, and they all nodded.

"Buiiiii." Ruby said running into her arms.

"Rubyyyy." She matched Ruby's tone.

"Can I be with you and Fufu? I am thodu sa afraid." She said slowly only for her and me to hear.

"Of courseee meri jaan." She said bopping her nose, and she grinned.

"Guyss, go ahead, Ruby is gonna stick with me." She shouted and they all showed a thumbs before charging towards various types of games and trampolines.

"Lakshya?" She asked softly looking at me.

"Yes Kitten?" I asked smiling at her.

"Can you hold my phone? Because I don't think you will be joining us on the trampolines." She said with a laugh at last.

"Suree thing." I said and she gave me her phone and wallet.

"Let's go Buiii." Ruby said dragging her to the trampolines and they started jumping and laughing. Both occasionally tripping and then again jumping.

There was a ding sound and Shanaya's phone screen lit up. I didn't wanted to pry but her lockscreen had her pic in school uniform with a shadow of a boy doing victory sign. I would be lying if I said that I didn't get jealous but then it hit me.

That boy was me. I vaguely remember doing this once at bus stand because I had noticed her trying to take a pic with my shadow. She wanted to be subtle but trust me it wasn't subtle at all.

I couldn't openly show anything for at that time, because apparently I was rumoured dating another girl, the head girl and I was the head boy.

But I didn't expect her to have this as her phone screen. I looked up to see all of them bouncing now, out of breath, giggling and laughing together.

It filled me with a warm feeling knowing that my family was happy with her, and vice versa. They felt safe and comfortable around Shanaya. I ignored them for Neha, but not this time. Everything is going to be rightly perfect this time, and I am gonna make sure of it.

Shanaya came running to me with Ruby and Ashima on her heels.

"Fufu water." Ruby shouted and took the bottle from beside me, laughing at something Ashima spoke.

"You ladies sure are having fun." I commented looking at them in amusement. All were red from panting and laughing.

"We sure are." Shanaya commented.

Her phone started to ring, and I showed it to her.

"The passcode is 02032008. Pleasee see na what is it about." She said panting from all the laughing and talking.

"Oh okay." I said unlocking it and saw the messages from the same idiot who was talking to Shanaya the other night outside base.

"What does he want now?" Shanaya groaned right next to me, peeking over my shoulder.

"I don't know, would you like to reply?" I asked forwarding her the phone.

"He is too much of an asshole for me to reply to him at this hour." She said checking her wrist watch. It was 11:45 now.

"Do you mind if I reply?" I asked, not trying to pry into anything but with her permission I am gonna reply.

"Sureee, I don't mind." She said and went back to her chipmunks, as she calls them all.

"Is the Princess up at this hour?" The message read. He sounded like a creep and why the hell is he messaging things like to MY wife.

"Helloo, this is Lakshya Mehra, Shanaya's husband, and please refrain yourself from messaging my wife such inappropriately at late hours in night." I typed as politely as I could, when I just want to bang his head into the car bonnet.

This park has a midnight dj system and the songs started blasting as soon as it hit 12.

My eyes were just stuck on Shanaya, the way she was so carefree and njst enjoying. I want her like this always, without any stress and pressure on her, but that's not possible, because she is a worrier.

"Bhaiyaaa." Riya shouted and I raised an eyebrow to her, and she ran to me.

"What now?" I asked.

"Stop acting like a love sick puppy, and staring at her, you look creepy. And come with us, danceee na thoda sa." She said pleading.

"You know I don't dance." I said but she dragged me nonetheless.

"Bow give it up to our newest couple in the house." The dj announced as soon as I reached beside Shanaya, and she looked at me confused and then at dj, when the spotlights were on us.

"Yayyyyyy, that's my Di and Jiju." Ashima shouted.

"That's my brother and Bhabhi." Riya shouted and they all clapped and hooted.

Shanaya beamed at me, and for the first time, I couldn't resist and dipped my face to kiss her. Taking her face into my palms and softly leading her lips upto me.

She was surprised but then kissed me back equally and then we parted.  Her face red with blushing, and hides into my chest, while the claps and hoots continue.

I have been yearning to kiss those red lips since the start of the evening,  and that black saree didn't help at all.

"Wohoooooooooo." Harsh, Avkush, Ashima and Riya shouted and bopped the party boppers, while Ruby jumped while clapping continuously.

This has been the best birthday so far for me.
