Anyone could tell

Percy was talking to Will, but Will wasn't listening. He was staring at Nico across the room. Every so often they'd catch eyes and Nico would smirk, biting his lip to keep from laughing. Gods, that sarcastic, mischievous, not-so-innocent smile. Will hated how crazy it made him.

Will loved everything about Nico.

He liked knowing that he and Nico could be in a room full of people, and no one had a clue what they had been doing the night before, or even two hours earlier. He liked getting away with it. He liked seeing Nico with a girl, and thinking, 'Never mind. Later, he belongs to me.'

He liked the risk of it all. It didn't matter if anyone found out, but they chose to stay a secret. For them to keep. For their eyes only.

No one had to know who was behind the bruises Nico covered on his neck. No one had to know why Will never went on dates anymore.

And it never mattered to Will when Nico was flirted with. He liked thinking about how that girl could think she's getting lucky tonight when really it'd be him.

No one had to know, yet anyone could tell.
