I woke normally, without even remembering whatever dreams touched my mind. There was no sense of anything, meaning I was already praying for the attack by the adversary that would come. Had it been in my dreams, I don't know if I wouldn't remember it.

There was a need to deal with the spam. There had to be a way to stop it from coming. Unsubscribe had to be an option. That meant I had to do more than just look at titles.

Unless someone like Ari could take care of it.

No. It was an assault on me. My faith in God and prayer was all I needed. At least I thought.

There was only one way to know. I had to check the emails anyway for any sign of the meeting.

It wasn't right. Checking them to unsubscribe was what the adversary wanted. Whatever filth was on those emails would weaken me. That's why the urge to delete as I went was within me. That was from God.

I just didn't know it, but God did. Which was why he led to the interruption that soon followed.

The doorbell rang and, "Ryan," was heard by Ari in a sharp, panicked tone. "Coming in, whether you're up or not."

I turned away from the computer glad to be up. Whatever the emergency, Ari wasn't going to wait, for anything.

My first thought was war broke out. Was it them, or us? Tensions weren't just tight with the aliens. But other nations, as well.

I headed to the door. But wasn't quick enough to see him enter. All I saw was a blur of movement from lack of sleep.

He practically raced around the corner in a panic, and almost ran into me. It was so close, I stepped back while raising my hands.

"Good. You're awake. There's credible information one of the secretary's advisors is being targeted by terrorists. We already have agents at your friends. Agents are also right outside, just in case. None of you are being moved, just yet. But going to be quick, if we do. So, be ready, Ryan."

I was afraid, while I nodded, and hit my knees to pray in silence. Ari joined me, while waiting to hear.

The fear left, before the adversary had a chance to get hold of my soul. He was responsible, which meant I was taking no chances. God would see us through.

If a terrorist took me, I'd be going home, and others would pick where I left. There was no stopping what God had started. I was just one of many involved in getting them to stop their war. Whatever happened to me, would happen.

If it was my time, I was content to go home. If not, then it would happen in God's time.

I didn't bring up anything about terrorists to Aril. I figured if he knew something about who was planning what, he would've told me. It was most likely vague chatter.

While praying for protection, the solution to the spam was right next to me. The FBI had to have someone capable of getting rid of spam. After we finished, I'd bring it up.

I don't know how long we prayed for. The only thing I know for certain is we were doing what was needed. It could've been minutes or hours. Being connected God, the way we were, meant time had no meaning to either of us.

Ari's phone rang, forcing him to end the prayer, while I continued. It would either be the all clear call, or some update about the terrorists. God told me it was the former, even before he answered.

"Agent Cornwallis," he answered in a pensive state.

His entire demeanor relaxed, leading me to thank God it was over.

"Thank you. I'll tell him," he ended the call breathing far easier than at any point since his arrival.

"We got them, before anyone could get hurt."

I nodded with a smile, without breaking my connection with God. And thanked him for seeing us through.

My body lifted feeling free. Not just from the terrorists getting caught, but also knowing the answer to the spam was right next to me.

He arranged for the spam to go away, without leaving. Even though they'd been caught, the risk remained, for a short time.

Throughout the day, no call came from Secretary Woodall. My part would have to wait for another day.
