Fire... I see fire...

'As light shines through the night,

Darkness flees,'

Smoke. Screaming. Fear.

'Pure Gold; Pitch Black,

Sworn Enemies,'

"HICCUP, NO!"

'When Dark meets Light, Pain explodes,'

I see... myself... looking into someone's eyes...

'You can not hide; true colors show,'

"No... NO! He can't be dead... he can't be..."

'Like how Lightening cuts through

The midnight sky,'

Tears. Fear. Fire. Then darkness.

'there'd be no light without dark, and no dark without light.'

Then another voice, one I've never heard. But this voice felt... so close... real:  "Shh... don't worry, Darkstalker, it will all be over soon..."

I sat up and screamed.

"Emmy! It's okay, it was just a dream... just a dream." I was embraced by a strong figure. I blinked away at my tear-blurred vision. It was Blaze.

"Emma, you're awake!" I heard Eret's voice from in front of me. I looked around the unfamiliar home.

"Where...why...Ouch!" I clutched my head. Blaze pulled away and sat down next to me. He chewed on his bottom lip, and twirled his thumbs around nervously.

"Where am I? Why...why am I here? What--what happened?

"Em..." He closed his eyes, opening them a second later, his gaze resting on mine. "We were fighting last night," He glanced at Eret. But the look wasn't of hatred, but of regret. "And you tried to stop us. We...we accidentally...hurt you."

"Where??" I jumped up, squeaking at the pain in my right leg. Blaze gently pulled me back onto the bed.

"We...hit your head...and...and your leg." He looked at me as if he were about to cry. "It's...broken, your leg is broken--you can't walk on it."

I groaned in frustration.

"I'm...sorry...for...for everything..." Eret confessed. Well this was a first. Eret son of Eret never apologizes.

"It's...it's Oka--Ouch!" I grabbed my head again. "Can I... have some water?" My throat felt crisp and raw.

"I'll get it." Blaze hopped up and rushed out a door and I heard his footsteps down stairs.

"Who's...who's house is this?" I asked Eret, who replaced Blaze's spot beside me.

"Mine. Well, my new one on Berk." He looked up at me.

"Why didn't you ever let me rescue my brother?" I blurted. Eret froze at the question: I obviously threw him off.

"I..had no choice..."

"You always have a choice. You just chose not to choose."

I continued to stare at Eret as I heard Blaze's footsteps pound on the stairs. "Here." Blaze handed me a cup of water. I smiled warmly at him, and tipped it, the cool liquid sliding down my throat. I gulped it down greedily. Eret got up and sat in the chair across from me, and Blaze reclaimed his spot next to me.
