You and Legolas had gone into the woods a safe enough distance from Mirkwood and still far enough that no one would over here your conversation. Sitting in an oak tree you two had light conversation before Legolas covered your mouth with his hand, silencing you. Nodding you moved his hand off and mouthed your words, What's wrong? Is there someone coming? Legolas only nodded and slightly tilted his head to the left. The cracking of a branch below made you almost fall out of the tree, lucky enough for you an elf with crazy speed caught you before you even started off the branch. Putting a finger over his mouth he glared at you. Shrugging your shoulders you looked down to see some humans with the flag of Gondor stitched onto their shoulders. (Note: This is before Fellowship of the Ring. Thank you) They were obviously talking about something but you could only here every other word or so, but from what you understood they were scouts looking for weak points in the security of Mirkwood. Gondor never really liked the elves in general but to try to attack they was just insane. The army of Mirkwood was strong and could probably take down an army of humans. The scouts began to continue towards Mirkwood. After about ten minutes Legolas took your hand and began to speak in a whisper, "Hold on tight (Y/n) and don't let go,". You gripped tightly to his shoulders as he jumps through the branches quietly following the scouts. 'What is Gondor thinking?' you wondered. By the time you were done thinking many things such as what about the wedding, is Gondor really that stupid and many other things Legolas was setting you down in the corridor before the throne room.
