"I can't believe it," they mumbled softly, their voice almost lost in the way they were pacing back and forth. "I can't fucking believe it! I mean... I, no...no, no, no."

Y/N's mind drifts back to the moment just minutes earlier when Charlie had poured his heart out to them, his words raw with emotion and vulnerability.

"Y/N," Charlie had said, his voice trembling with nervousness but filled with sincerity. "I need to tell you something. I... I've been holding this in for so long, but I can't keep it to myself any longer. I love you. More than just a friend. I've never felt this way about anyone before, and I can't imagine my life without you in it."

Taking a deep breath, Charlie finished up his confession and pulled out a bouquet of flowers from behind his back. "Will you be my partner?"

Resuming back to the present, Y/N halted in their steps. Y/N's hands began to shake as they tugged harshly at their Welton shirt. Their hearts pounded against their ribcage; each beat was a painful reminder of the choice they now faced. Y/N's gaze flickered between the floor and the door, uncertainty clouding their thoughts as they grappled with the magnitude of Charlie's confession.

Could it be true? Could someone like Charlie, with his charm and warmth, truly care for someone as broken and flawed as Y/N? I mean, they are just Y/N; there's nothing special about them.

And as Y/N was stuck fighting their thoughts, Charlie was left with an unanswered yes or no to his confession. Standing in front of Y/N, his hands began to falter, and the once confident and cute smile that he adored on his face slowly disappeared.

Yet, amid the turmoil of Y/N's self-doubt, a glimmer of hope flickered within their chest. They remembered the moments shared with Charlie, the laughter, and the quiet moments of understanding that had forged a connection between them.

Could it be that Charlie saw something in them that they couldn't see in themselves? Could his love be the key to unlocking the door to self-acceptance and belonging?

With a trembling hand, Y/N reached out to gently touch the bouquet of flowers that Charlie had offered, their petals soft against their fingertips. In that simple gesture, Y/N found a moment of clarity amidst the chaos of their thoughts.

Taking a deep breath, Y/N turned to face Charlie, their gaze steady and resolute. Though their voice wavered with uncertainty, their resolve remained unwavering.

"Charlie," Y/N began, their voice barely above a whisper. "I... I don't know what to say. This is all so sudden, and I'm... I'm scared. But..." They paused, gathering their courage, as they met Charlie's gaze with a mixture of vulnerability and determination.

However, they didn't get to finish, as Charlie already had an idea in his head of what Y/N would say. "But you don't feel the same."

Y/N's expression softened, their eyes filled with empathy as they reached out to gently grasp Charlie's hand. "Charlie, please," Y/N pleaded, their voice trembling with emotion. "Let me finish."

But Charlie didn't seem to catch onto Y/N's plea as he began to mumble to himself. Soon, the murmurs only grew louder, his words a relentless barrage of negativity that threatened to drown out any hope of reconciliation.

Feeling a surge of determination, Y/N leaned in, their lips meeting Charlie's in a soft, lingering kiss. It was a bold move, born out of a desperate need to silence the doubts that plagued Charlie's mind and to convey the depth of Y/N's feelings without words.

For a moment, the world fell away as they lost themselves in the warmth of each other's embrace, the kiss a silent promise of understanding and acceptance. As they finally pulled apart, Charlie's eyes widened in surprise, his lips still tingling from the unexpected contact.
