'ᴛʀᴀɪɴɪɴɢ'ʀᴀʏ ɢʀᴏᴀɴᴇᴅ, ʜᴇᴀʀɪɴɢ ʜᴇʀ ᴀʟᴀʀᴍ ʙʟᴀʀᴇ ʜᴇʀ ᴀᴡᴀᴋᴇ. She scrunched up her face for a slight moment, forcing herself up. She was not a morning person.
Shutting off her alarm, she rolled out of bed, pulling a pillow with her as her eyes scanned the opposite side of the room.
Of course the England captain was already awake. Her bed was made, suitcase fully unpacked, and her half of the room entirely spotless- whilst Raven, on the other hand was the complete opposite.
She finally shut off the alarm that was still blaring, stretching her arms above her head with a yawn, eyes shifting to a specific cap that was on her half of the room on top of her suitcase. The Geordie muttered a profanity under her breath, remembering the stupid deal that she had made the day before. It was almost time for training.
Raven ran a hand over her face, heading into the bathroom to brush her teeth and rinse her face with water. She tapped her fingers along the sink, nodding along to a random song that was playing from her phone.
The door swung open just moments after, Leah coming into the bathroom, making Ray sigh when she saw the girl through the mirror. The blonde's hair was down (for the first time since she they had met), joggers and a shirt lazily thrown on. Raven glanced at the girl, who got closer, words being slightly muffled due to the toothbrush in her mouth, "What are you doing?"
"'Morning to you too," Leah rolled her eyes, approaching the girl slowly. Ray almost let out a groan at the girl's voice overlapping her music, "I'm brushing my teeth."
Ray almost bit into her tongue. She should have locked the door. Her eyes were fixed on the girl in the mirror, as Leah reached for her toothbrush, her front pressing against the striker. Raven almost shivered at the touch, stammering in her brushing.
The Gunner's eyes caught the brown pair in the mirror, a cocky smirk wiping her face, pressing herself closer into the girl when she put toothpaste onto her toothbrush, pinning them both against the sink.
"Williamson," Ray voiced, her voice surprisingly not too trembly, despite the body that was pressed against her own shifting slightly.
"Yes, Reids?" The captain smiled, batting her eyelashes innocently. One of her hands rested on the countertop beside the geordie, the other holding onto her toothbrush.
Ray eyes watched the blonde, before she spat out the toothpaste from her mouth into the sink, turning the tap on, before glancing back at Leah in the mirror.
"Cat got your tongue?" Leah asked mockingly, taking the toothbrush out of her mouth, after a few seconds with no reply. Ray rolled her eyes, swishing mouthwash around her mouth and grabbing her phone- that was still playing music.
The Geordie groaned, spitting out the mouthwash, before deciding to speak, "Your hair looks good down."
Williamson hummed, resuming the brushing of her teeth, her eyes caught on Ray, who moved to leave, their bodies detaching from one another.
Spitting out the toothpaste that was in her mouth, she glanced back at the shorter girl, "Reids."
"Yes, Williamson?" Ray replied, somehow mimicking their earlier words.
She turned on the tap to rinse the sink, no longer looking towards the girl, "Don't forget about our deal, yeah?"
Ray shook her head, a small frown of annoyance on her face, teeth gritted, "Wouldn't dream of it."
-----------
Training arrived quite quickly, Ray managing to get some air away from the blonde after whatever had happened earlier.
Brooke laughed, throwing her head back as she showed her friend the stupid tiktok that had popped up on her phone. The team were sat on the grass, Raven's knees bent, as she rocked in her spot at the cold weather.
Her friend on the other hand, seemed unbothered, sitting and scrolling on her phone, whilst showing and (for some reason) sending the striker any video she found even the slightest bit amusing. The black girl smiled at the video, a small laugh leaving her mouth, the rest of the team as immersed in their chatter as the two geordies.
Sarina clasped her hands together, silently announcing the start of training, making Brooke turn her phone off, the girls focusing their attention onto their coach. She began her warm-up talk, instructing everyone on what to do. Running the words back through her own head, Ray's eyes involuntarily shifted across the pitch, meeting a pair of blue ones. Leah's.
Her hair was back in its normal ponytail, the blonde having to reach up and brush her hair behind her ears a couple of times with her hands. The captain gave a cruel smirk when she caught the black footballer's eyes, definitely plotting something.
Ray sucked in a cold breath, her hands reaching to rub across her arms to act as a coat from the bitter air. Her eyes shifted away quickly, mind flashing back to the morning, taking her bottom lip into her mouth to bite down and try to get rid of the thought.
The way Leah's body pressed against hers. The way that she whispered into her ear. The way that she said her name. Fuck; she couldn't stop thinking about it. Not after she had saw Leah again.
She was snapped out of it once Brooke had waved her hands in front of her face, offering her a hand up, "C'mon."
She took her friend's hand with a smile, realising that she had missed the last bit of Sarina's instructions. Somehow, Brooke had noticed (or she just knew Ray too well), filling her in on warm-ups. Thanking her friend, the striker, jogged to her assigned place after Brooke, before she was tugged back by that familiar hand.
She turned to face the girl, looking up at her, sighing slightly before faking a smile, afraid for what was coming. She was wondering when it would happen, and was dreading it, "Yes Williamson?"
Leah gleamed, eyes scanning the girl's face, before glancing down, "Your laces are untied," She stated, before walking away to her assigned drill.
Furrowing her brows, Ray looked down, noticing that her shoelaces were in fact undone. She glanced back up at Leah, who was still walking away, her eyes scanning the girl. What was she waiting for? There was no chance that she had forgotten, right?
The girl shook her head, following after her brunette friend, kicking her foot up on a bench nearby to do her laces. She jogged around the cones, ball dribbling between her feet, Brooke slightly behind, as she glanced between Leah and Raven, "Yous friends now?"
Raven sighed, from behind Ella who made a small joke. The two laughed, Ray glimpsing at Leah, who only met her eyes back. Pushing her tongue up against the inside of her cheek, she looked back at Brooke with a shake of her head, answering her prior question.
"Not at all."
