What was she planning?
Nerves consumed her, as Sarina blew her whistle, calling the girls over. The captain's eyes caught hers, the blonde jogging over to the coach with a small grin, as Raven did the same (without the grin).
Listening intently to her Coach's words, she took her bottom lip into her mouth, shuffling her feet across the fake grass. Brooke rested an arm on her shoulder, just barely catching Ray's nervous glances back and forth to the blonde woman.
The geordie let out a small breathy chuckle, as she pieced two and two together, waiting until their teams were announced before she whispered to her friend teasingly, "I told you that you shouldn't have made that deal."
"Yeah," Ray rolled her eyes jokingly, playfully flicking her friend in the head, "After I had already made it!"
A loud laugh escaped the brunettes lips, the striker sending her a glare. Apparently, the girls (and Noah) were too preoccupied to hear the deal that was made right before their eyes the day before, so Raven had to fill Brooke in as soon as they got away. And her response was indeed 'shouldn't have done that'.
Ray met the blue eyes yet again, silently cursing herself. Her mind was still replaying the scene earlier. What was that? She shook her head, following the majority of the girls that went to go and grab some water from their water bottles that were dumped on the side.
Finally recovering from her laughing fit, she jogged after the girl, snatching her own bottle from the floor and squirting some into her mouth, "Hey, she hasn't done nout yet," She said, shrugging and with a smile, "Maybe she forgot."
Raven's mind flashed back to the Captain's words this morning. Forgot? "She hasn't forgot."
"How do you know?" Brooke asked with an optimistic glint in her eye, supposedly trying to give her friend some hope that she was off the hook.
Raven's eyes scanned the girl's face, her teeth sinking into her lip, as they walked towards where the girls had began to get into their positions, still chatting about random subjects. Before she could even briefly start to explain the situation earlier, a voice called her name. Leah's voice.
She turned to look at the girl that had a friendly smile painted on her face, looking at her expectantly, standing with Keira, "Fetch me my bottle."
Ray rolled her eyes, jaw slightly clenched. Of course she was starting off easy. She mirrored Leah's forced fake grin, "On it, Captain."
Brooke let out a small giggle, taking her bottom lip into her mouth to prevent herself from laughing at her friend's annoyed expression, "Hey, it's not that bad, it's not like she's making you fill it up."
Ray began to nod, her mind noting that it could have been way way worse. But she knew, that from here it could only get worse. She jogged to get Leah's bottle handing it to her, and being asked (forced) to take it back.
----
The game ended, all teams jogging to the side, preparing for the split up into teams by the coach. Raven's tasks from Leah consisting of shooting (and scoring), tackling, passing and a couple of orders to run get the ball a few times. Picking up her water bottle, she squirted some water into her mouth, eyes falling onto Leah, who was slowly approaching only maintaining eye contact with the girl.
