For the past few days he had been cooped up in Red Fountain all alone, watching soap operas, eating and sleeping the days away. Levi was an extrovert who loved travelling around dimensions, and meeting new people but sometimes that was exhausting. Some days he needs his 'me days'.
Levi stepped off the bus in Downtown Magix just to see the streets full of people. While it was snowing outside, there were still loads of people outside in the snow. Levi had been surprised that there were still so many people in Magix. People usually used this day as a means to spend the time with their family. If it hadn't been for most of his family, he would have loved to spend today with his aunt and his cousin, Helia.
There were many stalls where vendors were selling small dragon figures and toys. There were firecrackers and even fireworks that were being sold. Levi didn't know how they were going to set off those fireworks when it was snowing so much. He'd have to stay for a few more hours to see if they'd actually do it.
The boy made his way down the street passing by a few familiar faces he had seen in the streets of Magix. He saw a group of Beta students who lived in Magix near the food stall where they were selling chili stew and fresh buns. Levi was someone who could handle any type of spice, he was probably the only one who could handle it amongst his friend group. Sky and Brandon were to cowardice to try because their spice tolerance was zero while Riven and Timmy could only handle only so much.
Levi smiled at the guy at the stand. While Levi wasn't as cocky as people thought he'd be, the guy knew the effect he had one people, or at least what effect his smile had on people. So, when the guy shyly looked away, he couldn't help but let his smile widen. “Hi, how may I help you?” the guy named asked, while fighting hard to not make eye contact.
“Hi. . .” Levi looked at the guy's nametage. “Beck.” The boy smiled, nodding. “Can I please get one bowl of your famous chili stew and two of your freshly baked? I've been dying to taste some since I got back,” Levi said and the guy chuckled, nodding. “Coming right up.”
Levi smiled as the guy went to go prepare his order. He turned his back to the stand just when he heard a throat clearing. He looked to the side to see a few girls standing at his side. Levi just nodded his head in their direction as a sense of acknowledgment. He knew they were from Beta College.
One of the girls with dark blue hair slowly walked up to him. “You're Levi, right? From Red Fountain.”
Levi hummed, “Yes, that's me.”
“Uh, hi, I'm Denny,” the girl introduced herself, extending her hand. Levi extended his hand in politeness to greet her. He may not have been in a mood for company but he wasn't going to be a jerk to a girl who was only trying to be nice. “Nice to meet you, Denny? You from Beta?”
The girl nodded. “Freshman?”
She nodded again, a little eager now. “How'd you know?”
If he had been Sky or Brandon he'd say something about how he would've remembered seeing someone as pretty as her at Beta and since he's not, he decided to just be friendly. He was a charmer but he wasn't in the mood to charm anyone.
“I guessed.” The girl giggled causing her friends behind her to laugh. Levi awkwardly chuckled, scratching the back of his head.
Denny looked back at her friends as to tell them to shut up. “So, my friends and I were wondering if you wanted to join us later tonight for the fireworks show?” Denny asked. “We are kind of new to Magix and we wanted someone to show us around.”
