Every time Bloom woke up she found that it was impossible to get back to sleep. It's been on repeat for weeks on and the girl was tired every day. When she couldn't sleep she'd sneak into the library with Kiko to try and read up some more of Daphne but when she didn't get anything on her, she'd switch to books about Sparx but she was also hit with nothing as the books about that planet didn't seem to exist anymore.
So as winter started to melt into spring, Bloom began to find herself tired and lost mainly because of her sleepless nights and it seemed she wasn't the only one. Most of the fairies in Alfea were tired. The freshmen however seemed to have had it harder than most. They had tests almost everyday and while they knew Alfea was hard since it was one if not the top school for fairies in the entire dimension but this was the school designed to train them to become Guardian Fairies and not just anyone could become one without the proper training.
Bloom hadn't even been able to keep in touch with Andy with how much she's studying for the quizes they seem to get every two days. Another quiz was announced in metamorphosis that caused everyone to groan. Professor Wizgiz told them exactly the day before the test about it.
“Now that is just evil,” Talia complained loudly to the man. “We're doomed.”
Wizgiz sighed, swinging his legs from his perch atop his desk. “Come now girls, nobody’s doomed. It’s a harmless little quiz.”
Stella scoffed at the leprechaun. “You just said we could be kicked out of Alfea if we fail,” Stella bursted out. “How is that harmless?”
“I should have worded it better, my fault,” Wizgiz said, clapping a hand to his forehead. “You would had to have failed just about every other exam I’ve given you, which no one has done,” Wizgiz said making sure to add that in. Everyone in their first year had passed the exams so the chances of them failing was slim at that moment.
“Besides even if you did fail the subject, we wouldn’t just abandon you, we’d have a conversation about your options, possibly repeating the year, which there’s nothing wrong with…” Stella did not want to repeat her first year again especially not when her best friends could be moving to their second year. She could not allow that to happen.
“This quiz is on material we’ve covered plenty of times in class,” Wizgiz continued hurriedly.
“A little more heads up would have been nice,” Musa put in and the rest of the class quick to agree with her. “I mean, the day before?”
Wizgiz packed his bag, leaving them with some parting advice before he left. “Make sure you review your notes and get a good night's sleep. You’ll be fine, I have complete faith in you.”
Unfortunately, the class didn’t seem to share his faith and they watched in dismay as he made for the door.
“Wait,” Yves called in desperation just as the tip of his pointed hat whipped out of sight. “Can you at least tell us what the test isn’t going to be on?”She didn't get an answer from the professor as everyone in the class sighed knowing they'd have to study when they get to their dorms. Most of them wanted to go to Downtown Magix but now they couldn't.
The girls turned to their friends for some study resources when one fairy shrieked out, “Wait, did anyone take notes on today’s lesson?!” She had realised that none of her friends had taken notes.
“This is horrible,” she continued, voice rising in volume. “We’re all going to get kicked out.”
A quiet snore interrupted her meltdown and she whipped around, wide eyes landing on Bloom, who was asleep at her desk, and looked like she’d been that way for a while. “Oh, damn,” Flora sighed, the closest she’d ever come to swearing and hurried out from behind her desk to wake her friend. “Bloom?”
