Maisie was running around the room. She'd managed to sleep through her alarm and was now running late. Why hadn't Erin alerted her? Okay they weren't on the best terms but still.

They were all sat having breakfast. Erin looked over at the group Maisie had been in yesterday. She still hadn't turned up. Erin was beginning to feel a bit bad. When Maisie's alarm had gone, she'd turned it off but she thought Maisie would only be a bit late, not this bad.

Erin could see the coaches obviously talking about it as they were also doing a scan of the room. At that moment the doors burst open and a flustered Maisie burst in. She was bright red and obviously quite panicked.

"Sorry," Maisie apologised as Marie walked towards her, "I missed my alarm and I dunno I didn't mean to be late."

"Maisie don't worry about it. Breakfast doesn't finish for quarter of an hour. You still have time to eat," Marie reassured her. Maisie began to take a breath. She needed to calm down and not let this ruin her day.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll grab something quick."

She did that and went to join her group of friends. She'd buried her panic and was ready to be her usual upbeat self.

"Nice of you to join us," Zara laughed.

"Are you actually middle-aged? You sound like my mum," Maisie teased, sitting down and tucking straight into her food.

Erin's guilt vanished as she watched Maisie instantly make them all laugh.

Once breakfast was over, they were heading out to train.

Maisie was excited and ready to play some football. She laced up her boots and then she was out, Liv on one side and Samara, a winger from Arsenal, on the other.

They started with some purely fun warmups. It was chaos and they all got super into it.

"Liv you don't actually need to hop," Samara laughed as they played the fox and rabbit game.

"What? Maisie said I had to," Liv told her before she turned to Maisie, "You're so annoying."

"I try my best."

Once that game was over, they did a few more fitness ones before getting into some football drills. They were different from the ones they did at City and Maisie was trying really hard to pay attention. There were too many steps and she began to zone out. It didn't matter though as Marie condensed it for her afterwards and she could join straight in.

Each game was a lot of fun and really tested all areas of their game. Despite the joy they were all getting from it, it was clear how intense England life was.

In one game, Maisie was running forward. She was so focused on the ball that she didn't notice the dummy that she ran straight into.

She fell to the floor, roaring with laughter and setting everyone else off. Liv helped her to her feet and Maisie didn't shy away from making some jokes to deepen the hilarity. Even Erin found herself laughing but she quickly tried to cover it up.

After a good long session, they all headed inside to get some lunch.

Maisie was loving being on England camp. There were all sorts of different people she could socialise with and the whole environment was great. It was the evening of the first full day and she lay in bed, too excited to sleep.

She'd been quite tired but as soon as she'd laid down her brain had woken up.

She just lay, staring at the dark ceiling and trying to do some exercises to calm herself down. They weren't working and, in the end, she just gave up; she had to tire eventually.
