Maisie had got another call up for England camp and she was super excited. Football was going really well since Darren and Joe had come back and she'd been playing at a super high standard.
School was a bit of a mix. She was having up and down days and it could get challenging to deal with. As GCSEs were approaching, the pressure had increased more and with that Maisie's behaviour was getting worse. She didn't like things to be serious so she was acting out and being silly. It caused quite a few arguments but her parents were persisting through it; they loved their daughter more than anything.
There were still some good days and they weren't at the low point that they'd sometimes got to before.
It was almost time for the Lionesses camp so Keira and Lucy were coming to stay for a few days. Maisie was excited and with that excitement, she'd been too hyper and got herself in trouble at school.
She was now without her phone and was bouncing around the living room.
"When do they get here?" she asked.
"Keira said they'll be about an hour and a half," Tracy replied.
"That's so long," she complained.
She continued bouncing round the living room and causing trouble and by the time Peter got home, Tracy was fed up.
"She's not listened to a single word I've said. That's the pile of stuff I've had to confiscate," she explained to her husband, nodding to a pile on the table.
"Why did she have a sword and a golf club?"
"She decided to play golf in the living room so then I confiscated the club and when I came back she was still trying to play but she was using a sword to hit the balls."
Peter chuckled and shook his head.
"I'll take her off your hands. You sit and relax for a bit."
With that, he went to see what his daughter was up to. He found her in the bathroom, water all over the floor.
"What have you done here?" he sighed.
"Nothing."
"Right tidy this up and then come with me. I need your help with some stuff."
"What sort of stuff?" she asked.
"You'll see."
She then moved from her spot by the sink and walked towards him.
"You've got to clean this up first."
"Oh yeah sorry I forgot."
She got some towels and began cleaning the mess she'd made. She didn't do an overly good job but she got fed up and gave up.
"I'm done," she said.
"Come on then."
The two of them walked downstairs and through to the garage.
"What are we doing?"
"I thought we could start clearing some stuff out."
He knew that having Maisie help would probably be more trouble than it was worth but it got her out from under Tracy's feet and that was all that mattered.
"Woah there's a lot of stuff in here," she said as she looked around. Before Peter could even explain his strategy for clearing out, she dived in.
"I forgot about this," she said as she pulled out her old skateboard. She then got on and tried to skate in the very limited floor space of the garage.
