Maisie stopped walking and her brain was running at a million miles an hour. Had she done something wrong? Why was Erin being off? What was going on?
As she tried to gather her thoughts, she was overrun with emotions. She felt guilty that she'd somehow upset Erin, she felt sad that Erin was annoyed at her and as always, she felt anger because that's just how her brain worked when it was full of emotion.
"Are you alright mush?" Tracy asked as she found her daughter stood still. Maisie wanted to burst with emotion but she remembered the stuff that she'd spoken about in therapy.
"I need a minute to get myself together," she said as she tried to fight the urge to scream in anger.
"Okay darling. Should we go up to the room?"
"Yeah," she said.
They walked upstairs and Maisie fought the anger as all her thoughts buzzed in her head.
Once they got inside, Tracy left the teenager to calm down.
Maisie tried to do the different techniques to get herself calm but she couldn't do it.
"Mum. I need your help," she called.
Tracy obviously came and helped her and with someone supporting her, she managed to regulate her emotions.
"Erin's annoyed at me and I don't know why," she said sadly.
"I thought I noticed that you two didn't spend any time together today."
"No we didn't."
Oh shit. It suddenly dawned on Maisie why Erin was angry.
"Oh," Maisie said as she realised, "I didn't spend any time with her. I kept blowing her off and talking to Tilly."
"Ah well then that explains why she's angry."
"Shit I feel really guilty."
"It's nothing an apology can't fix," Tracy reassured her.
"Yeah. You're right."

Erin was lying on her bed and feeling thoroughly upset. She hated how Maisie had treated her and she hated the blunt things that Tilly had said.
She was upset and angry and all she wanted to do was curl up in bed and read a book.
As she attempted to get on with the book she was reading, there was a knock at the door.
Her parents and brother were out in the hotel grounds so she assumed it must be one of them coming back to grab something.
When she opened the door she was surprised to see Maisie stood there. She moved to shut the door as she really didn't want to talk but Maisie stuck her foot out to stop her from closing it further.
"Please I just wanted to say how sorry I am," she said, "I didn't mean to hurt you by talking to Tilly but I was a bitch and I just didn't think. I get if you're annoyed but please understand how sorry I am."
Maisie went to walk away but Erin opened the door further.
"Do you wanna come in?"
She did and she followed her inside.
They sat down and Maisie apologised once again.
"I'm sorry I was an idiot and I didn't mean to ignore you."
"It really hurt me," Erin said, "Every time I tried to talk, you or Tilly would cut over and you wouldn't even bother asking me what I was going to say."
