Are they always like this?

Maisie and jet lag was not a brilliant mix. Her brain did not cope with little sleep and she was all over the place.

Her parents were pushing through and it was slowly becoming more manageable.

It was a few days after they'd arrived in Australia and Keira and Lucy had the day off.

Maisie was beyond excited to see them and the minute she saw them emerge from the hotel, she sprinted over.

She was a mini tornado and she leapt up onto Keira, almost barrelling her over.

"Watch the knee," Peter warned her. The 26-year-old had been given the all clear but that didn't mean she needed her sister flooring her.

After she'd almost taken out Keira, she moved onto Lucy.

"I've missed you mush," she said as she squeezed the teenager.

"I've missed you too."

With the initial greetings done, they walked into the city centre to get a drink and then walk around a park.

Maisie was chatting away and she was already making them laugh.

"You're a nightmare," Tracy told her after hearing the language that had come out her mouth.

"I get that from you," she responded.

"You certainly don't," she said.

"Mum your language is awful," Keira laughed.

"It isn't."

"It is."

"I don't like it when you two silly sods gang up on me."

"You're just proving our point."

"Oh shush."

As they walked along, Lucy and Keira filled them in on everything that had gone on in camp.

"It must be so much fun to be with your friends all the time," Maisie said.

"It is. Even if G is super loud all the time."

"Not as loud as me," the teen said.

"No mush. No one's as loud as you," Keira chuckled.

They carried on with the walk and Maisie and Lucy walked ahead, deep in conversation about something or other that made them both crack up with laughter.

"So how was the journey over?" Keira asked.

"Awful. She was a nightmare."

"At one point she started flipping off and doing the wanker sign at everyone around us."

"And then she laughed hysterically so it made our apology seem less genuine."

Keira couldn't help but laugh at this.

"It's not funny," Tracy told her, "Do you know how utterly embarrassing it was?"

"Oh I can imagine. That's why it's so funny."

The three of them continued chatting and they had a peaceful conversation as Maisie continued being loud with Lucy in front of them.

"You've built all the SpongeBob characters?" Maisie asked.

"Yeah."

"Without any instructions?"

"Don't need any. I'm just too good."

"Do you reckon you could build me a shark? Ooo and an octopus to go with it. I really like them at the minute. Did you know that octopuses have blue blood because it's got cooper in it?"
