Heirii’s Point of View:

I woke up with a massive headache. Kisshu had been taking care of me for the past two days, and though I was feeling better, I didn’t want to admit how awful I actually felt. I kinda just wanted to be back in a real bed, not on the ground. I loved the fact Kisshu was sticking his neck out for me, but I needed to be back. I’ve had enough rest…or so I say. I sit up slowly, my blurry vision starting to clear as I scanned the room. Kisshu was laying with his arms behind his head, just staring up at the sky. “Good morning.” I say, and he jerks toward me, obviously surprised. He smiled widely, “Good morning my little Foxy, how are you?” his kindness made me blush a bit, but I decided to get over it. “I’m fine.” I say with a fake smile, lying to him. He believes me, and nods happily. “Great! Are you feeling good enough to go back, or do you want to stay?” he asks again, and I feel myself smile. “I think it’s time I go back.” I tell him, and he gives me a sad smile. “Alright then, I’ll take you.” A pang of guilt takes over me, and I feel bad for just deserting him like this. I get up, trying not to show how dizzy I was, and walk over to where he was standing. Giving him a massive hug, I whisper “Thank you for everything, I really do appreciate it.” He tightly hugs me back, whispering in my hair. “Anything for my little fox.” I blush, so I stay cuddled up to his chest for a bit, and then I finally pull back. “You ready?” he asks me, and I nod. “Yep!!” I say happily, causing him to chuckle. Taking my hand, we teleport, and soon I’m standing in the park. I look around, the surroundings flooding my eyes. I’ve actually missed this place, if that’s sad. My mouth falls agape as I see a giant hole in one side, and I glance at Kisshu. “Is that…from me?” I ask slowly, and he nods. “Yeah, you really did take some damage there, but now you’re fine!” he exclaims happily, and I giggle. If only you knew… “Well, I guess this is goodbye for now, but I can’t leave you alone for too long, can I?” he winks, and I roll my eyes. “Of course not.” I say playfully, and he laughs. “I don’t really want to leave you though…” he murmurs, and I sigh. I give him one last hug, telling him I’d see him soon enough. He chuckles, knowing I’m exactly right. He disappears, and I’m left alone. I start walking back to where Ichigo’s house is, but I stop myself. What time is it? I look up at the sun to see if I can get an estimated time. The sun was in the middle of the sky, so I assumed it was around 12. “Perfect, I’ll just go to the café.” I say to myself, turning around and going the opposite direction towards my new destination. As I walk, my head starts to spin, and I feel myself getting really dizzy. Realizing I haven’t done anything the last few days, walking a long distance wasn’t my best idea, but it was too late to stop now. Suck it up!! I tell myself, stumbling towards the café. When I finally reach it, I stop and sigh. Going through the doors, I see it dark and empty. “Hello? Guys?” I ask, wondering through the kitchen and dressing room. I shrug, turning on all the lights. “I guess no one gets here at this time.” I mumble, changing into my uniform. I slightly heard voices from the basement, so I made my way down there. “What do you mean he’s awakening? That doesn’t even make any sense!!” Keiichiro’s shocked voice sounds, and I stop, snooping on their conversation. “It’s true, theirs evidence that he has finally awakened, but it’s caused by another force, someone here in Tokyo. We need to find out who it is, or else we’ll all be destroyed, and the Mew Project will be useless.” Shirogane’s angry voice answered, and my eyes widened. What are they talking about?? And who? I knock on the door, and I hear silence, then footsteps walking towards the door. Pretend like you didn’t hear what they said. I mentally note, and I give a smile to Keiichiro as he opens the door, a look of shock on his face. “Heirii! I didn’t know you’d be back so soon! I hope you had a good recovery, yes?” he says, a smile playing on his face. “Oh yes, it was great, and now I’m ready to get back to work.” I lie, giving him a fake smile. He buys it, nodding his head. Shirogane appears beside him, and he actually looks pleased to see me. “Oh good, your back. We’ve been needing your help around here, so no more slacking off.” He says nonchalant, and I narrow my eyes. “Really? That’s all you can say to me after I nearly died? Thanks a lot!” I say sarcastically, putting my hands on my hips. “Umm…I’ll go prepare the food for today.” Keiichiro says lamely, excusing himself from us. I can practically feel the tension surrounding us. “Come with me.” Shirogane orders and I huff, but follow him inside. He closes the doors behind him, and faces me with crossed arms. “What?” I ask annoyed. “I want you to know that I really am glad you’re back. Everyone has been in a depression with you gone, and it’s effected everyone’s ability to perform.” His words shock me, and I’m standing there, speechless. “I…err…uh…” I try, but I can’t find any words. “Why would they be depressed because of me?” I splutter, and he rolls his eyes. “You really are dense, aren’t you?” he says, and I clench my fists, but he continues before I can say anything insulting to him. “You’re a major part of this project now, and you mean a lot more than you think. I don’t think we could’ve done half the stuff we have without you here. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m glad that you’re here with us, and on our team.” He says, looking me in the eye with every word he speaks. He’s serious this time. I give him a weak smile. “Thanks, I didn’t realize that at all.” I say truthfully, and he snorts. “Of course not, you depend on others a lot I’ve noticed.” Of course, he’s back to his old self. He can’t stay nice for more than five seconds. “YOU’RE SO MEAN!!!” I yell, and I see a smirk play on his lips. “Sure I am, just wait. You’ll be seeing who’s mean soon enough.” He says darkly, and I stare at him confused. “What do you mean by that?” I ask narrowing my eyes. “You know who, the one the aliens are always talking about. The one they serve. Deep Blue has awakened, and he’s coming soon.” Those words made my heart plummet into my stomach, and my eyes widened with fear. “Are you being serious?” I whisper, and he nods. “There is a human who helped him though, and we need to find out who. If you could, find him.” He says, and I nod. “Let’s get out of here now, we don’t want anyone wondering where we are.” He says looking up, and I nod. As we walk upstairs, I hear a squeal of delight. “HEIRII!!!!” Ichigo’s voice screeched in happiness. I’m soon tackled into a hug, her knocking me off my feet. I laugh as I’m pinned on the ground, seeing a grinning Ichigo above me. “You’re back!” she says excitedly, and I nod. “No way, I thought I was just imagining this.” I say sarcastically, and she playfully slaps my arm. “Don’t you use that tone with me missy.” she says, and I grin goofily at her. “Of course not, not me.” I say innocently, and she scoffs. I get up, and I’m attacked by Pudding, who’s yelling how much she missed me. As Mint, Lettuce, and Zakuro hug me and welcome me back, I steal a glance to Shirogane. He just nods at me, giving me a grin. He was right, they do appreciate me. As the day went by, I tried my hardest not to pass out, but I think Ichigo noticed, as she kept giving me worried looks. I kept waving her off, which made her upset. Though as soon as we got home, she questioned me. “Are you really okay?” she fired at me, and I just weakly smiled. “I’ll be fine after a good night’s rest.” I promised, and she nodded. As we both fell asleep, I couldn’t help but to think of tomorrow. I have to go to school, and that means I’ll have to face…JAKE.

*The next day*

I’ve avoided Jake all day. I’ve seen him in classes, and every time he tried to approach me, I’d walk the other way. When I was in my last class, my teacher said she had this meeting to go to, and that we were free to go wherever we wanted too. All the students cheered, fist pumping and talking to each other. I grinned happily, exiting the classroom and putting up my books. I just stood in the halls for a bit, not knowing what to do. “Heirii.” A voice calls, and I freeze. Why is he here?? Duh, he has your last class with you. He was free to go wherever too. I slowly turn, seeing Jake on the other side of the hallway. He starts walking towards me, a determined look on his face. Run away from him, don’t just stand there!! My mind screams, and my feet finally find the strength to start going away. I swiftly walk the other way, trying to create space between us. I glance over my shoulder, and yelp in surprise. He’s sprinting at me now, gaining ground faster than I imagined. I started to run, but a force stopped me, causing me to fall to the ground. “Why are you running from me?” he growls, and I whimper in fear. “Get off of me!” I say bravely, and he rolls his eyes. Standing up, he grabs my hand, forcing me up with him. I stare into his blue eyes afraid of what he’ll do. He starts to drag me, and even though I fight, I can’t beat him; he’s too strong. “Let me go!” I scream, and he just grunts, tugging even harder. Before I know it, we are in an abandoned part of the school, and he shoves me up against the lockers, glaring down at me. I cower in fear, terrified of him. Transform and you could beat him. I shook the thought from my head, knowing I couldn’t do that. Suddenly, a smirk appears on Jake’s face, and I look at him confused. Why is he smirking?? “I don’t think that you’re this weak Heirii. Why don’t you show me just how strong you can be.” He threatens, and I pause for a moment. Did he know? How would that be even possible though?? “W-what do you mean?” I stutter, and he just chuckles. “I think you know what I’m talking about, Heirii. I saw you in the park.” He says, eyes narrowing at me. I freeze, my eyes going wide and my jaw dropping. HOW THE HECK DID HE… I’m cut off by my thinking as he shakes me by the shoulders. Looking him in the eyes, I actually see concern. “Heirii, why didn’t you say something?” I scoff at him. Did he really believe I’d tell HIM something like that?? “Really? Why would I tell you.” I snap, and he looks taken aback by my sudden burst. “We wouldn’t have picked on you so much if you would’ve told us you’re the one protecting us.” He says, a sad look on his face. “Bull!” I yell, anger rising in me, and he looks shock. “You would’ve called me a liar! And beat me up even more than you already do!!” I scream, and I start to shake, a tear slipping down my cheek. I turn away from him, not wanting him to see me cry. “Heirii…” he starts, but stops, not able to say anything. Gaining my courage back, I look him straight in the eyes, looking for an honest answer. “Why do you even care anyway? You hate me!” I say, and he just gives me a remorseful smile, and let’s go of me. I slump down to the ground as the pressure is lifted off my shoulders, but I soon recover, getting up and looking at him as he stares at the ground. “Why?” I question again, and he looks me dead in the eye. “Because…I’m falling for you, Heirii.” He says, and I feel everything stop, and I’m glued to the floor, watching in shock as he steps closer to me, closing the gap between us.
