"was that the surprise you were talking about?!" sayuri stomps all the way to her brother, leaving a frozen-in-spot yuji to nobara and megumi. "that is so so—"
"amazing?!" guessed satoru.
"stupid!" finished sayuri.
yes, yuji was bound to come back to their class and in their school, with decent and a calming explanation for nobara and megumi, so they would not be so shocked when yuji comes back, but all those delicate plans of hers were shattered by satoru and yuji's idea.
plus, sayuri didn't want megumi and nobara to misunderstand her intentions of keeping yuji alive from them. she, at least, wanted to explain the situation.
"that's mean, you little sh—" satoru was about to pull sayuri's ears, but remembered that he should treat her extra nice today since it was her birthday. "i'll pretend i didn't hear that." he grins and walks away from his sister to torment gakuganji, only because he's one of the higher-ups who were eager to kill itadori yuji.
"yuri... help me out." yuji whispers through his sealed lips. nobara then kicks the box for the wheels to move towards sayuri.
once he was near her, yuji immediately jumps out of the box, almost startling his two other classmates, just to hide behind sayuri, his hands were glued to her shoulder.
"happy birthday, but help me out." yuji pouts behind her.
he was supposed to make sayuri smile since he was convinced that his gojo-sensei's idea was exceptionally good and mind-blowing, but it turned out the opposite instead.
yuji was really intimidated by kugisaki's scowl, which makes him drop one of his hands that were on sayuri's shoulders and hold her hand instead. "please?" yuji's body inches closer on sayuri's back.
guilt was crawling up on her, but how can she resist yuji? "...fine." she finally answers before facing the two. in a matter of seconds, she had to think of an explanation that will ease their shocks.
but, seeing how casual the two were, as if itadori did not just come back from the dead, kugisaki nobara had to do a double-take look on yuji's hand holding sayuri's hand and then back to sayuri's eyes. "wait— why are you not shocked— did you know he was alive?!"
where else should they run to? they were already caught. the best choice was to confess.
