𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐍𝐎𝐃𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐍 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐍, Amaryllis felt that she could at the very least partially understand what he meant, since she herself would soon be living much longer than the average human.
In obvious thanks to her tamaranean half, which she wasn't very sure would for a fact kick in thanks to her separate yet equal human half given she already didn't have the same physical concepts as a full blood tamaranean.
However if she did manage to grab a hold of the lengthened life expectancy she would at some point find herself staying young whilst the rest of the people she knew aged beyond compare.
Not to mention her own father, whom she wasn't very sure would gain any perks from procreating with a tamaranean like her mother, that being said she did feel that immortality would at some point grow boring if she didn't learn to have fun during her life.
"I didn't think they would be," She spoke with a soft grin, not having to try hard to stay optimistic given the sincerity beyond everything that Elijah was doing for her. "and what about your family, other than Klaus, right?"
"Right," Elijah answered still maintaining a soft grin, however this one wasn't as genuine as his previous ones and Amaryllis quickly found out why as he continued. "other than my little brother, the rest of my family's location is currently unknown to me."
Hearing his words, Amaryllis couldn't help the twinge of curiousity as she leaned a bit forwards lowing her voice as she asked not wanting to say the wrong thing given he'd already mentioned of keeping harsher topics off the table.
"Why?" She asked anyways falling into her curiousity, especially since Elijah already mentioned that he wanted her to get to know him better and there was no better way than to ask him questions.
Although hearing her question, Elijah only softly sat his drink back down as he had for a moment started swirling it around in the clear glass wanting to answer calmly and softly.
"They all were proven disloyal to my brother," He spoke perfunctorily in the same manner as he did whenever he brought up his family, however he still held some information off. "so he decided to keep them locked away to sleep forever, like a modern day children's tale."
Listening to the man tell her of one of the many inhuman thing that his younger brother did, Amaryllis's eyes couldn't help but widen as she hadn't expected something so heinous to partake between family members despite knowing of the other horrible things that The Originals had done.
Nevertheless given her time with Elijah for a moment, Amaryllis thought that maybe they all weren't as horrible as the stories had made them seem although as she thought back on it she didn't understand where that thought had come from.
Unbeknownst to her, it was partially because of how protective Elijah seemed to be of her and how he didn't at any point harm her in the slightest.
"Oh sorry I pried." She couldn't help but apologize, something she often did when not bothered by someone who annoyed her which was when her more bitchy side came out.
Yet according to the already respectful and kind attitude that Elijah had already shown her, Elijah only once again knocked off her worries with a kind chuckle.
Not wanting their date to dwell into an awkward silence or conversations.
"No worries," He spoke the once amused grin, coming back in a slick teeth showing smile on his face as he reached across the table to lightly grasp at her uncovered hand. "I want you to know more about me, like how I never break my word."
As he finished speaking, the man couldn't help but subconsciously run his thumb over the soft peaks of her index, ring, middle, and small fingers trying to clearly show his unaffected emotions over the tumultuous proceeds of his past.
Which he seemed to accomplish as the smile that was once on Amaryllis's face grew just a bit wider, causing his own to do so as well the man becoming once again entranced by the woman's beauty and magnificent appearance.
Even without a single sign of makeup, a pure alluring view of the woman that managed to captivate his mind since he'd first seen her and that captivation only grew the longer he sat in silence and gazing in her eyes.
Yet as he finally came back to his senses, the sound of beautiful percussion of violins, a piano, and a light trumpet a sudden idea flashed into the forefront of his mind.
"Can I have this dance?" The man asked seriously, the look in his eyes somewhat expecting some kind of rejection from Amaryllis as his eyes flickered from her hand to her lips, and then her eyes.
Although Amaryllis didn't seem to notice this as she gave a gaze around the room despite the two of them being perfectly alone, yet there still was the fact that they were on somewhat of an overhanging balcony and everyone in side of the restaurant might catch a glimpse of them.
"We haven't even ordered," Amaryllis spoke up shocked, not having expected him to suddenly suggest the pair of them dancing which she was overly good at given the practice she had going up dancing around with her then sane father. "what if someone sees?"
As she asked another question, clearly anxious over everyone seeing the pair doing something that didn't seem normal for such a classy place, however as someone that didn't often have to worry about the public's opinion, Elijah's smile only broadened.
"Then they'd see a blinding constellation shining miles away from the heavens," Elijah spoke assuredly as he stood from his seat, holding out his hand in order for Amaryllis to join him in a dance...or two. "that's if you'll give me this dance?"
Glancing from Elijah's hand to the people sitting down below them, Amaryllis only took a second to contemplate whether she wanted to have a dance or not as she chewed on the skin of her bottom lip.
Although almost immediately after a few seconds, the young woman couldn't help but to quickly reach out to grasp his hand, allowing him to pull her up from her seat and move a few feet away from the table.
The smile on Amaryllis's face broadening as the two stood close to each other just like they had when Elijah had used his speed to pull her away from Elena's suicidal plans.
Yet now they were chest to chest, Elijah's left hand circling around the back of her waist whilst her right laid on wrapped around his neck and their other hands held together before they began to softly sway.
Before they began to spin, twirling around together whilst they moved to the soft sounds of the live music only staring into each other's eyes both of them surprised with how far they were getting with each other.
the song doesn't have anything to do with the story, but I was reminded of it while writing this.
