40. More Thorstons?

Talulahh's POV:

I awoke to a loud horn. Astrid pulled out her daggers, very alert.

"It's Tuff..."

"And Ruff..."

"And Chicken..."

"In the mornings!" I heard their voices through the horn.

"All right, folks." Ruff said. "Now, it's time for your weather forecast. Today will be freezing cold. Tomorrow will be, well, freezing cold."

"Leave it to you muttonheads to use the Thunder Ear backwards." Snotlout called to the twins.

"Or, are we using it right-wards?" Tuff wondered. He put his mouth back to the horn. "To inform the masses."

"Plus, the earwax on this thing keeps our lips from chapping." Ruff told Snotlout.  "Y'know, we really should market this."

I yawned, glancing at Astrid, then looking forward again. I had to do a double-take and  yelped in surprise when seeing the state of her.

"Okay, let's check the old mailbag and see what Terrible Terror mails came in last night." Tuffnut a

"Ah! Here's one for Snotlout." Ruff said, reading the letter aloud. "'I misss your snuggles, too. Signed, Mommy.'"

"Hey, that's private!" Snotlout yelled.

"Woah! This one's addressed to us." Ruff smiled. "Dear Ruff and Tuff, your cousin Gruffnut is on his way to visit you today."

"Wait, Gruffnut's coming here?" Tuff repeated. "Today? Oh, no. Look at me. I am a mess. All right, show's over." He threw Chicken to his sister. "I gotta go get ready."

"Gruffnut's coming. Gruffnut's coming." Tuff muttered as he swept the floor of the clubhouse. We all watched him in confusion.

"Gruffnut's gonna ve here any second. This place needs to look nice. You wanna help, just a little?" Tuffnut asked.

"No." Ruffnut grumbled.

"I will!" I smiled, grabbing a broom and starting to sweep.

"Okay. I'm new here. Who is Gruffnut?" Heather asked.

"Good question." Dahlia added, Copper nipping at her legs, trying to get her to pet him.

"He's their cousin." I replied, leaning on the broom.

"We've never met him, but Tuffnut worships the guy." Snotlout nodded from beside me.

Tuff scoffed. "No, I don't. Even if he is a totally awesome world traveler and a fearless adventurer."

"Yeah, you say traveler, I say a drifter." Ruff rolled her eyes. "He just wanders into our lives every few years."

"Hiccup, what do you guys think about me taking over the reins around here?" Tuff asked. "Y'know, just while Gruff is around?"

"Don't you remember what happened last time you were in charge?" Hiccup reminded.

"To be fair, I was only in co-charge of the island, so I think we all know whose fault all that's really was." Tuffnut defended himself.

"Did this island just get a hundred percent more amazing, or is it just me?" I heard a voice behind me.

I yelped in surprise, swinging the broom at the figure. "Woah!" Gruffnut dodged.
