Hiccup's POV:

Stoick, Gobber, Dahlia, and I watched as villagers worked.

"Hard to believe it's the middle of the night." I muttered, looking at the bright sky.

"I love the midnight sun. Constant sunlight for two weeks. Our most productive time of the year." Stoick put an arm around my shoulder. "And Tu's least favorite time of the year." He laughed.

"Aye, most productiv for the first week. But we're in day eight, things can start to get a wee bit crazy." Gobber said as Stoick walked off to deal with an argument.

"Lack of sleeps gets to everyone eventually." Dahlia nodded.

"Poor Gothi, she's been babbling for days now." Gobber pointed to where Gothi was scribbling in the dirt, many drawing around her.

"Yeah. I see what you mean." I nodded.

"And Sven's worn out half his flock on the dance floor." Gobber motioned to the man, who was slow dancing with a sheep.

"But that's pretty normal for him, though." I shrugged. Dahlia made a face.

"Yeah, you're right. Bad example." Gobber shrugged. "But lack of sleep gets to us all eventually. Even you young'uns."

"That's why I sent the others back to the Edge to do the simplest job possible. Wash their dragons." I smiled. "There's no way they could screw that up."

3rd Person POV:

At the Edge, all the Riders (besides Hiccup and Dahlia) stood in the dome.

As Heather carried a bucket of water towards Windshear, she tripped and fell.

"Uh, been trying to wash that dragon all day. Poor thing." Tuff muttered, watching the girl.

"So tired, she can't see straight." Ruff nodded.

Stormfly flew by, "Woohoo!" Astrid laughed. Then Stormfly landed. "Ah, hello, everybody!" Astrid said cheerfully. "What a glorious day to groom out amazing dragons."

"Technically, I think it's night." Fishlegs corrected.

"Well, then what a glorious night." Astrid grinned.

"What's going on with her? She's not this nice, ever." Snotlout looked at the girl, who was spinning.

"Uncontrollable euphoria." Tuffnut muttered. "Pfft. Classic sleep-deprivation sympton."

"And you know this, how?" Fishlegs asked.

"Uncle Gorstaag. He had insomnia for 27 years." Tuffnut replied.

"Yeah, we're experts in the feild." Ruff added.

"Astrid, have you slept recently?" Fishlegs raised an eyebrow.

"Nope. Not a wink. But I feel so amazing." Astrid giggled. "It's like a have wings. I feel so good. I feel so good!" She flapped her arms and ran around.

"We're not all gonna get like this, are we?" Fishlegs frowned.

"Hello. Oh, you're so cute." Astrid kissed the ground, then started rolling around. "Ooh, I love dirt. I love dirt."

"Sleep deprivation is a multifaceted disorder." Tuff nodded.

"Multifaceted, lots of facets, wide array of symptoms." Ruff shrugged.

"Take Heather. For her, it's lack of coordination." Tuff watched as she tried to take a step, faceplanting instead. "Yup, there she goes."

"Or Talulahh. For her it's confusion." Ruff motioned to the girl.
