-Devon's Point Of View.-
I turned and looked at Harry, disbelief filling my eyes as he stared back at me; not a doubt anywhere to be seen in his light emerald green eyes. All the boys turned and looked at him; shock clear on all their faces. They came here to deliver the news, not to receive it.
"How did you know?" Liam asked, clearly confused.
Harry grinned and tapped his forehead, "I heard it. Niall projects his thoughts rather loudly." but by the look in his eyes, I could tell that he was lying. I knew he had known before Niall had thought it; for some reason, he didn't want the boys to know that.
"Abbadon killed him. Choked him out; we watched." Zayn continued with a grim look on his face. He opened his mouth and turned to look at me, I saw confliction in those chocolate brown hazel eyes of his; there was something he was holding back.
"What are you not saying Zayn?" I asked him, and at the sound of my voice his head jerked up and he looked at me funny, as If a few hours ago he hadn't been paying attention to me when we first met, but now he was fully paying attention to me, as if he noticed something no one else did. His staring made me uncomfortable, and I suddenly wanted them all to leave so I could cover up every inch of skin on my body.
"Zayn, answer her." Harry spoke, aggravation laced through his words.
Zayn looked at Harry, and he blinked a couple times then he looked at the carpet.
"He said something to Michael, before he killed him. Something about Devon." Louis spoke for Zayn, for it seemed Zayn had lost the ability to speak.
"What did he say?" I asked, fear taking over my body, making me ice cold in some places and on fire in others. Harry was biting his lip as he wrapped his arm around my waist; pulling me impossibly closer to him. With anyone else it would have felt extremely uncomfortable, but with him I loved it. He made me feel safe. He looked as if I was the only thing keeping him from beating the wall until his knuckles were bloody.
"He said he wanted Devon, and he would stop at nothing to get her. He'll kill anyone who gets in his way." Louis answered, sending me an apologetic glance, though I didn't need it.
Harry was off the ground in an instant and I felt my body hit the floor with a hurtful thump.
"There is no fucking way that bastard is going to lay a hand on her! Not one single little fucking finger! I'll break every limb in his body if he so much as tries to take her from me, I'm going to bloody kill him." Harry roared, the body that was calm and warm a second ago was now shaking and Ice cold. The boys all turned and looked at me, as if saying 'You're the girlfriend, calm him down.'
I stood up and walked over to Harry. He was shaking, his back to the wall. His eyes had completely turned black, the pupil having took over. It terrified me, though I didn't show my fear. I grabbed his hand, though he didn't register it. I shook him a little and he didn't make an sign of acknowledgement, just straight away. Frustrated, grabbed his face in my hands and brought his forehead down to mine, but I didn't kiss him.
"Harry, look at me." I spoke, daring him to disobey. He turned those black eyes unto me and it took nearly everything I had not to shy away from him. I couldn't do that, he needed me.
"I'm okay. See?" I spoke quietly, but he just shrugged.
"Harry." I grabbed his hand and but it on my chest, where I could feel my heart beating furtively.
"Do you feel that?" I asked him, and in response his face softened a little.
"That means I'm alive, and okay. That means I haven't left you, and it means that I never will. I'm okay, right now, alive and breathing so its okay. You're okay. I'm okay. We're okay. Calm down, I love you. No one's ever going to take me away from you." Harry's body began to relax as I watched the green return to his eyes. He grabbed my face with his hands and kissed me hungrily and forcefully, as if he needed my lips. He pulled me to him, as close as I could physical get to him.
He kissed me as if it was just us, completely oblivious to the four boys in the room. I stood on my tiptoes, because I couldn't reach him properly. He sighed in my mouth and then pulled away from me, hugging me tight to his body. His head rested on my neck, his breath tickling my throat.
"I love you, Devon." He whispered into my neck, "I don't know what I would do without you." He pulled away from me and looked me in the eyes, I happily noted that they had returned to their former beautiful green, the green I loved.
"Damn. How do you do it?" Liam spoke, making me jump.
"Do what?" I replied, looking at him.
"Calm Harry down like that? In all the time I've known him, no one can calm him down once he gets going. Once his eyes go black there's no return. But if he just hears your voice or touches you, he's okay again. How do you do it?" he replied, staring at me as If I were a goddess. Niall and Louis agreed; Louis calling me superwoman, though Zayn stayed quiet; I noticed.
"Liam?" I asked, as everything quieted down.
"Yeah, love?" They boys never called me Devon unless it was serious. It made me happy that I had a pet name between them all; I felt like I had a family.
"Do me a favor?" I crossed my fingers, hoping he'd say yes.
"Anything, what is it?" He smiled at me and I smiled back.
"Get me something at Starbucks?" I asked, causing everyone to roar with laughter, our current situation forgotten.
-Liam's Point of View.- (A/N A FIRST!)
I hummed quietly to myself as I walked into Starbucks. I chuckled as I remembered Devon asking me to go, the way her voice sounded; she thought I'd say no. If it were anyone else, I probably would have; but Devon reminded me of Niccola, my older sister, so I couldn't bring myself to.
I stood in line behind some elderly lady, who was quietly talking to herself. At first, I assumed she was talking to the lad beside of her but he made no sign of actually talking to her; he didn't reply to any of her questions, nor did he look at her. I figured it was kind of creepy, her talking to herself, I could help her out, but I quickly made that suggestion disappear. I wasn't an angel anymore, my back suddenly throbbing at the thought; I could nearly feel Niall ripping my wings out again. But I wasn't an angel anymore, it wasn't my job to look after people.
I owned them nothing.
The line was going rather slowly at first, a guy was working the register; a newbie at best, he had no clue what he was doing, I felt sort of bad for him. I noticed that the line was starting to go quicker; I looked up to see a beautiful blonde had taken his place. I didn't need to see her face to be awestruck by her. Her little petite frame, her height stopping at around 5'5 perfect blonde hair that fell in waves past her shoulders. She was heartbreakingly beautiful to say the least.
And then I saw her face.
Beautiful grey blue eyes was what I registered first. They were so familiar, I knew those eyes, but I couldn't figure out from where I had seen them. Her face was soft, but hard at the same time. Her eyes cold, distant as she smiled at the customers. She looked as if she had seen more in her life than any one girl ever should.
The old lady in front of me had gathered up her rather fattening looking doughnut and her hot chocolate and left, so it was my turn.
"Hello, what can I--" She stopped when she looked up at me, recognition flared in her eyes but it was gone in an instant. Her voice was magnificent, beautiful and melodic.
"What can I get you?" She started again, trying desperately not to meet my eyes.
"I'm sorry," I heard myself saying, "But do I know you? You seem so familiar. What's your name?"
She smiled brightly at me, her smile lit up the room. "Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Lizzy. Elizabeth sounds to old and Victorian. Too angel like." Her smile faded at the word angel, but I pretended I hadn't noticed.
"Beautiful name, for a lovely girl." I heard myself say. Stop it Liam, I thought to myself. You aren't allowed to love a human or interact with one. Harry has now look where it got him. But something about her, they way she moved, the way she looked, just didn't seem . . .
Human. It didn't seem human.
"Uh, my sister just wants a caramel frappicino." I said as a beautiful blush crept up through her cheeks at my last comment. It looked lovely on her, it suited her well.
She nodded and went to work. I wasn't really paying attention to what she was doing until I saw her drop something. Or, she should have dropped something but she caught it lightning quick; a normal human wouldn't have even registered the drop, but I wasn't normal and I certainly wasn't human. She quickly looked up at me, seeing if I had seen what had happened. She sighed as my eyes bored into hers.
"Well, guess I'm not keeping that a secret any longer." She sighed, looking at me.
"Guess not." I grinned.
"Look, can you talk? I get off in about five minutes, I can explain everything then." She smiled her beautiful smile.
"Sure, we can go to Harry's." I answered her. She jerked her face up.
"Harry . . . Styles?" She sounded star struck; everyone knew about Harry up in heaven, everyone knew how he fell in love with Devon. Everyone knew about Devon too, and the fact that she knew who I was talking about made me more positive that she was heavenly.
Literally.
"The one and only." I smiled and I could still see she had another question in her eyes.
"Is . . The girl, is she with him?"
"Yes," I sighed, "She's with him."
"Is he cocky? Everyone always told me he was a cocky bastard." She grinned and I couldn't help but smile, because I used to tell people that too.
"No. He's not. He's different around Devon. Well, you'll see." I answered her as she handed me Devon's drink and pulled the apron over her head and walked out from behind the counter. She was even more stunning when you could see her full body, noticeably wide curves; I loved them. She was wearing a yellow and orange flowery summer dress that reached her knees, and white wedged sandals, which boasted her height considerably.
We walked out of the star bucks in silence, her hand brushing up against mine ever so often. I resisted the urge to grab at her hand every time it came near mine.
"So, is it true?" She startled me by saying. We stopped behind the starbucks
"Is what true?" I replied back.
"Is Devon really the oldest soul? Is a greater Demon really after her?" It struck me how she knew all this information.
"How did you know all of that" I asked her and she shrugged.
"You learn things when you fall." She answered me quietly.
"So you are an angel?" I asked her, she looked down.
"Was." She answered quietly, though she had a warning tone in her voice, telling me to back off the subject, so I did.
We were in the car then, I opened her door for her she climbed in and sent a smile my way. We drove in silence, I turned the radio on to avoid awkwardness, It was that bloody Call Me Maybe song and she sung away, not embarrassed at all.
Soon, we had pulled into Harry's parking lot. I groaned internally at the thought of having to climb fifty flights of stairs to reach Harry's apartment. I opened Lizzy's door for her and she smiled at me as she got out.
"Prepare for a long climb," I warned her. "Elevators are broken."
"I have a strong stamina." She said straight faced as she looked at me, "I can handle anything." I felt myself grin at her innuendo, and we kept walking. We walked the stairs in silence and we eventually reached Harry's room, neither one of us slightly out of breath as I opened the door.
"LIAM!" A blond head threw herself in my arms, "Thank you thank you thank you!" She ripped her coffee out of my hands and kissed me on the cheek, then she turned and looked at Lizzy. Everyone's eyes fell on Lizzy, actually.
"Whose that?" Harry's deep, husky voice asked as he came up beside Devon, grabbing her hand. It seemed that Harry couldn't survive without touching Devon in some way.
Lizzy's eyes zeroed in on Devon and Harry holding hands. She quickly looked away as everyone watched her.
"I'm Lizzy." Her voice shook slightly, "You must be Harry and Devon. You guys have the Higher Ups in an uproar." She chuckled slightly and to my surprise, Harry smiled a little at her. Since he had fallen, he didn't trust anyone and didn't look at anyone with such kind eyes. Since him and Devon had gotten together he definitely hadn't trusted any strangers around her, but Devon had a calming effect on him. Devon was changing him more than we knew.
"Are we really that big of a deal, Harry?" Devon looked up at him and tugged on his hand. He dropped her hand and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him. It had become a very noticeable habit of his.
"I guess so, love. I guess so." He answered her, kissing her on the forehead lightly.
"I don't understand this utter load of shit." Lizzy spoke as she sat down on the coffee table, squishing herself in between Louis and Zayn; they both chuckled at her forwardness.
"I'm sorry?" Devon stared at her, confusion written all over her face.
"You two," Lizzy gestured to them, "are clearly in love, and you aren't hurting anyone or anything so why can't you just be left the fuck alone?" Harry chuckled at her comment.
"You're a lot like me." He said and she looked at him.
"You cuss when you don't understand things." He smiled at her and she laughed.
"You're right Liz," Devon said and I smiled; Devon already had a nickname for her. Lizzy smiled to at the name.
"I know," Lizzy chuckled.
"I like her. She got sass." Louis said in a sassy tone, the only thing that was missing was his hands on his hips.
"What are you, though?" Zayn looked over at her and she frowned.
"I'm fallen," she answered, "Just like you guys," she stopped and looked at Devon, "Well, except you. I think what you re is much cooler than what I am." Devon grinned at her comment, but didn't say anything.
"How'd you fall?" Niall asked, and the smile completely left her face.
"I'd rather not talk about it." She answered, and heard a sniffle.
"C'mon! I tell you why I fell if you tell me--" Louis began but Devon, surprising everyone interrupted him.
"Louis. Enough. She said she didn't want to talk about it." She had a serious look in her eyes, and I saw
Lizzy send her a grateful glance.
"How old are you?" Devon asked her, and she replied back automatically.
"I'm nineteen." She answered.
"Is everyone older than me?!" Devon growled, and Harry chuckled.
"I like you being the youngest." He whispered seductively in her ear, we all chose to ignore the intimacy.
"How old are you?" Lizzy asked Devon, and she frowned.
"Seventeen." She answered.
"Harry's the second to youngest" I spoke, right before she could ask. "I'm twenty one, as is Niall, and Zayn is twenty-two and Louis, the oldest, is twenty-three ."
She looked incredulously at me.
"He," She pointed at Louis. "Is the oldest."
"Yep." Louis jumped off the couch and ran to the kitchen,
"Strange one." Lizzy commented.
Harry sat on the couch and Devon went to walk by him but he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into his lap.
"Harry!" Devon squealed.
"If you squirm, I'll tickle you." He responded back to her and she stopped moving all together.
"Thought so." He said smugly and Lizzy startled laughing.
"You guys are so cute!" She squealed and they both smiled.

-Devon's Point Of View.-
I liked Lizzy. She was bright and bubbly and she laughed a lot. She kind of reminded me of Mara, in a way, though they didn't look anything a like.
I hadn't expected her to be fallen like the rest of the lot, I thought she was just some pretty girl Liam had met on the way to Starbucks.
It struck me as odd, the way Liz got defensive when Louis asked her why she fell; the other boys had freely told each other how or why they had fallen, so it surprised me when she refused to explain why she had fallen.
I don't know why I defended her. I usually didn't do things like that, but I found myself telling Louis to shut it before I could think twice about it, because something in Lizzy's gaze seemed familiar to me, the cold hardness that had glazed over them. She had seen something, something that nearly ruined her; though she brought herself back from the drinks of darkness, like I had. I felt close to her. I wanted to help her. I wanted to be her friend.
She could never replace Mara, no one could. But she might be able to fix the hole in my heart that Mara had left.
***
I was in the kitchen, staring out a window, when I felt warm arms snake around me.
"Yano," Harry whispered in my ear, "We could just disappear for a moment. Find a private bathroom . . " He didn't finish his sentence though he didn't need too, I could tell what he wanted by the way he was holding me.
"Twice in one day? I don't think my fragile body could handle that." I felt myself grin. Harry kissed my neck so light I barely felt it.
"I'll be gentle." His lips moving against my bare skin sent shocks through me.
"Hello, love birds!" Lizzy and Liam walked into the room, both laughing, and I heard Harry grunt. He pulled my body in front of his, purposefully hiding his lower region.
"Hey," Harry said, trying to sound polite but he just sounded flustered.
"What's your problem?" Liam asked Harry. Harry sent him some kind of look that I couldn't see, but Liam backed off.
"Hey, I'm going to steal Devon for a it, alright?" Lizzy spoke to Harry and before Harry could protest Lizzy pulled me away from him and dragged me away. It was only until after we had reached the back room of the apartment did I hear Liam's laugh fill the house.
Lizzy sat on the bed opposite of me while I took the floor. The floor was more comfortable to me recently. I didn't speak, because I figured she would start talking when she was ready. She played with the covers on my bed, not looking up at me. I saw her mouth open and close a few times, and after a long silence she finally met my eyes. They held so much hurt and pain it nearly hurt me to look into them. I could see that she was desperate for someone to unload on, and regardless of how short of a time we had known each other that I was the person she was going to unload on. Her eyes brimmed with tears and she quietly wiped them away wiping her damp hands on her jeans.
"A few months ago . . . My sister . . . " She started choking up, but I stayed silent.
"Her dick of a boyfriend, Connor took Jessica out to a party. It was one of those booze high school parties out in the woods, yeah he took her to one of those. They were partying and having a nice time. Well, Jessi . . .she was pregnant, and she told Connor. He screamed at her, called her all sorts of horrible names, and then he left her there in he woods all by herself. " She started, she was getting angrier by the second.
"Some drunk guy stumbled upon her. I'll spare you the details of what he did to her. I killed him. Ended his life right on the spot. But when I killed him, Jessica saw me. She thought I was dead, so she was really freaked out. I couldn't do anything else, I had no choice. I had to explain everything to her."
"She was so happy, not that I was an angel but she was just happy I was alive. A few days went by, I kept my distance from her, to keep her safe, but it wasn't good enough. An angel, piece of shit he was I don't even remember his name, he dragged me to her house and killed her. He made me watch her, made his little demonic minions hold me back, I'll never forget the sound of her screaming, calling out for me; egging for my help." Her lip was trembling. I did my best to ignore how close Jessica's story fell in line with my own.
"Oh my god, Liz I'm so sorry." I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her closer to me. Her body shook with all to familiar uncontrollable sobs that she had held in for too long.
"I killed him where he stood." She muttered and I couldn't hide my shock. She killed an angel?
"That's why I'm here; that's why I'm fallen. I'm here to protect you, because you know all about our world, its only a matter of time before--" Lizzy never got to finish her sentence because a loud bang from the kitchen made us both jump. We were just about to go out and see what was going on when Niall rushed into the room and slammed the door. He turned and looked at Liz, as if I wasn't there.
"We need to get her out. Harry will kill me if she gets a scratch, she needs to get out." His words terrified me, I had no clue what he was talking about.
"Niall what are you--"
Beautiful Devon, a voice echoed in my mind, I'm here for you. I'm coming. There's only so many places you can be. Come out to me now, and Harry won't get hurt.
Ignoring Niall, I walked towards the door. I couldn't deal with something happeing to Harry, I couldn't handle the possibility of him getting hurt because of me. I would go out to Abbadon with a smile if it meant Harry would be okay.
I stepped out of the room, completely ignoring Niall and Liz's stares. In the living room was a horrific scene. Two men lie on the floor, un-breathing though they were all to big to be any of my boys so I heaved a sigh of relief. Everything was broken, glass lie everywhere, couches tipped over, it looked as if a tornado had struck and done its worst.
There was a man holding Louis, a man holding Liam, a man holding Zayn, and a man holding Harry. Liam, Louis and Zayn had stopped fighting the men but Harry hadn't. He was still struggling and he hadn't noticed my presence. I finally understood it was Abbadon himself holding Harry as he went to punch Harry really hard, probably with the goal of knocking him out.
"NO!" I shouted, finally letting go of the illuison that I wasn't there. Eight heads snapped in my direction. Abbadon's face was hungry and pleased, while Harry's was horrified. At the sight of me, Harry began fighting harder.
"I'll go." I said, looking at only Abbadon.
"No," The pain and hopelessness in Harry's voice cut at me like a knife,, but I fought my hardest to ignore it, because I was doing this for him, for his safety.
Abbadon called another man over who I hadn't noticed before. He took Abbadon's place at holding Harry and Abadon began to slink towards me. I would have been less disgusted if a rattle snake had slithered its way towards me. He reached me, and I bit my lip to keep from stepping back. He reaked of death, rape and something sour. His hand carrased my face, I flinched.
"Don't fucking touch her. Don't you dare fucking touch her!" Harry roared, fighting harder against the man that was holding him, though the man seemed to be having no trouble with Harry.
Out of spite, Abbadon tilted my head back and kissed my throat. His papery lips against my delicate skin made me sick.
"You fucking son of a bitch!" Harry roared, fighting even harder than I thought possible.
"Harry, please." I looked at him with tears brimming in my eyes. I must have looked a sight because when Harry looked at me he completely stopped moving, his eyes never leaving mine. I could feel the terror on my face, staring into Harry's onyx eyes.
"I love you, I'll protect you forever." Harry mouthed to me
"I love you too," I mouthed back.
Abbadon wrapped his arm around my waist, his hand resting on my bum. Harry's eyes were on fire but not a word escaped his lips. I looked behind me to see Niall and Liz had been seized. The look on their faces made me want to burst into tears but I didn't. I refused to show Abbadon any weakness, for he would soak in it.
He dragged me past the boys, I felt their eyes linger on me and I could pratically feel the rescue plan rolling of of them in waves. Abbadon stopped us right in front of Harry; I was secretly thankful, to be able to be this close to Harry one last time.
"I'll make her scream my name louder than she ever screamed yours." He muttered to Harry,
"Fuck you." Harry muttered, only looking at me.
"Oh, she will." That was the absolute worst thing he could have said to Harry.
I watched all of the control leave Harry's eyes, leave his body, it was all gone in an instant.
Harry snapped his head back so fast, the guy who was holding him wasn't prepared and he went out cold. All around me I heard complete chaos. Harry lunged at Abbadon; Abbadon threw me across the room as if I were a feather. I flew into the mirror, I felt something sharp impale my abdomen, but I was wearing Harry's dark wool coat over it, so I wouldn't have been able to see the damage if I had any.
I was dizzy from hitting my head on the glass, I could barely make out anything that was going on. I saw Harry on top of a limp body; he kept strinking and striking as the blood covered his knuckles. I saw Liam and Lizzy takening on two guys, who hit the floor with a loud ugly crack and then their bodies disappeared; Zayn took out two himself and Niall and Louis handled the last one.
Harry was pulled off the body he was beating. The body stood up, and it was Abbadon. He was barely recognizeable with the cuts and bruises that covered his face. Harry lunged at him, and he chuckled.
"If I were you, I'd worry about my girlfriend." And he was gone.
-Harry's Point Of View.-
At Abbadon's words, everyones heads swept the room, looking for Devon.
I spotted her first, her frail body stood in the corner, her skin was very pale as she leaned up against the wall, but otherwise she looked fine.
"Hey," She croaked. Such a normal thing for her to say, I nearly laughed.
"Hey," I smiled back at her and made my way towards her.
"How you feeling?" I asked her, as I reached her. She looked confused at first, but then she smiled.
"I feel great." She smiled, and I would have believed her if blood hasn't suddenly dropped from the side of her mouth.
"Devon?!" Six voices said, very alarmed they had sounded. Devon took a step towards me, as if she were trying to say, 'I'm fine Harold, see?' and then she would chuckle, but instead I saw the most horrifying thing in my life.
Devon took a step forward but her knees have out before she could make it to me. Five pairs of hands darted out to catch her but it was my arms she landed in.
"Look for injuries!" I heard someone shout, though I couldn't bring myself to move. Her small body was starting to tremble, and blood was beginning to come out of her nose as well.
"Devon? Can you ear me?" I shouted frantically, she didn't respond. "Devon, oh god please don't. Oh god answer me Devon answer me! I love you, do you hear me!? Stay with me! Do not give up!" I pleaded with her as I felt someone search her for injuries. Lizzy ripped my jacket off of her and we all gasped.
There, in the middle of her adomen was a large pice of glass, it had pierced her from behind and it had went all the way through.
"Oh, god!" I heard someone sob as Devon's eyes rolled into the back of her head, and it was me who was sobbing.

Please don't hate me guys, but I'm taking a break from writing. NOT A LONG ONE. Just two or three days. All I've been doing is writing and I haven't had time for anything else, so I'm going to take three days to catch up on my social life. Expect a update on Friday, that is if I get 75 votes. (:
