Janis' POV

My face hit the mat hard when Aunt Nat roundhouse kicked me down.

"Use the technique I showed you to block, Janny." She said. I was so sore I could barely stand. Our training session was interrupted by a high-pitched scream that was no doubt Wanda. My mind immediately switched to its "Fuck your pain!" mode as I pushed myself off the ground and ran out of the training room. Wanda was standing in the lounge with her phone in her hand. I nearly fell bringing myself to a stop,

"Are you okay? What happened? Are you hurt?" I asked a million questions before I noticed that she was smiling like an idiot... an adorable and wonderful idiot.

"SHIELD's releasing Pietro from 'Tahiti' in a few days!" She squealed at the thought of her brother coming back. "I need a hug." She opened her arms.

"But I'm all sweaty." I panted, fumbling to open my water bottle.

"Does it look like I care?" She laughed. I shrugged and joined in the embrace.

"Speedy's coming back?" Uncle Clint asked, sounding a little excited. I didn't know Wanda's brother very well. I met him once and then heard a bunch of stories after that. The hugging didn't stop until my aches came back and caused me to fall back a bit. Wanda pulled away and helped me back to the couch,

"Did I squeeze too tight?" She asked, concerned but slightly laughing. I shook my head,

"Nah, it's the training. Almost as painful as the confusion of waking up after a full night's sleep." I chuckled, bringing up the fact that my nightmares have gone away. It's been three days since I had one last, and that was the night Bucky showed up. After that, nothing kept me from sleeping. Wanda's smile got wider,

"It's still new to me too." She expressed.

"Janis? I'd hate to break up the lovefest but Nat wants you back to the training room." Steve interrupted, sounding slightly annoyed. Ever since I ended things he's been back to his old behavior towards me. Sometimes this man can be such a child.

"Tell her I'll be there in a minute," I spoke with a careless tone.

"Or you could hustle your ass back into training. You have work to do," He bit, showing his distaste for my attitude. Just like old times, I guess. I exhaled sharply and stood up,

"Why are you being a dick right now, Rogers?" I snapped, giving him a refresher of my former attitude towards him. Uncle Clint and Wanda watched, slightly entertained. Steve folded his arms,

"What did you just say to me?" He asked, this time wanting me to tell him straight to his face. Steve even knows from experience that I could argue for days and that picking this fight was useless.

"You know... I don't remember, actually. To paraphrase: you were much less annoying when you couldn't talk." I spat, referring to the times when his lips were busy doing other activities. His face flushed,

"Oh really? Well I liked you better when you-"

"Okay, children, that's enough. Steve, go do whatever Steves do. Janis, come back to the training room." Aunt Nat interrupted. I flashed her a quick nod and walked that way.

"Alright, what happened back there?" Aunt Nat asked, holding the punching bag while I socked it.

"He's back to his old tricks." I told.

"It's very hard for the white male to stay in this area that they call the 'friendzone', especially the first girl they get... speaking of which; how was he?" Nat laughed. My punches grew heavier,
