The dim light of the café barely touched the shadows under Jimin's eyes as he stared at Jungkook. The man he thought he knew. The man who had loved him with everything. Now, he sat across from Jimin, face devoid of emotion, as if the three years they had shared meant nothing.
Jungkook finally spoke, voice low but firm. "I took the money, Jimin. It was always about the money."
Jimin blinked, the words echoing in his ears, twisting the knife already lodged in his heart. "What?" he whispered, his throat tight.
Jungkook leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, a smirk that didn't reach his eyes painted on his lips. "Your dad offered me enough to leave you, and I took it. You're not worth more than that, Jimin."
Tears blurred Jimin's vision as he shook his head violently. "You're lying. Tell me you're lying!"
"I'm not." Jungkook's tone was final, cutting through the air like glass.
Jimin's world crumbled. "How could you..." He choked on his words, fists clenching. "You said you loved me."
Jungkook stood, tossing cash on the table for his coffee. His gaze flickered briefly, and for a moment, Jimin swore he saw pain there. But it was gone as quickly as it appeared.
"Goodbye, Jimin."
And just like that, Jungkook walked out of his life.

Two Years Later
Jimin wasn't the same person. Gone was the boy who laughed easily and loved recklessly. He had become a shadow of himself, distant and cold, navigating life out of obligation rather than passion.
When his father arranged his marriage to their family friend Taehyung, Jimin didn't protest. He simply nodded, too tired to fight. But Taehyung was kind, and his daughter, Taehi, was a light in Jimin's darkness. The little girl's laughter warmed parts of him he thought had died. Slowly, with time, Jimin began to heal.
He never forgot Jungkook, though. Late at night, when Taehi was asleep and Taehyung's gentle presence felt more like guilt than comfort, Jimin would remember. The lies, the betrayal, and the love that had once burned so brightly.
**
Then, one fateful day, Jimin overheard a conversation between his father and a family friend.
"Jungkook?" Mr Park scoffs "..I paid that boy for his brother's medical bills after the accident I caused..." his father said, voice laced with indifference. "And I made sure he stayed away from Jimin. It was for the best."
His world stopped. Jimin gripped the edge of the counter to steady himself, bile rising in his throat. Jungkook hadn't taken the money for selfish reasons. His father had attacked Jungkook's brother. The money wasn't a bribe - it was compensation.
Jimin's heart shattered.
**
Jimin found himself standing outside Jungkook's apartment that evening, his hands trembling as he knocked.
When the door opened, Jungkook stood there, older and wearier. His eyes widened, surprise giving way to something deeper - something raw. "Jimin..."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Jimin demanded, voice breaking. "Why didn't you fight for us?"
Jungkook looked away, shame painting his features. "Because I didn't deserve you" he admitted. "I took the money. Even if it was for my brother, I took it. I let myself become what your father thought I was. Weak. Greedy. I thought you deserved better than someone like me."
Jimin stepped closer, tears streaming down his face. "You were everything to me, Jungkook. And you left me to believe I wasn't enough."
"I'm sorry" Jungkook whispered, his voice trembling. "Every day, I hated myself for what I did. But I thought I was protecting you. From me. From all of it. I feared your father won't let my family live or worse even hurt you"
Jimin sobbed, and Jungkook pulled him into his arms, holding him as they cried together, the weight of their pain pressing down on them.
**
When Jimin returned home, Taehyung was waiting. He didn't ask where Jimin had been - he already knew.
"You still love him" Taehyung said softly.
Jimin nodded, tears falling again. "I'm sorry, Tae. I never meant to hurt you or Taehi. But I..." His voice broke. "I don't know what to do."
Taehyung smiled sadly, tears pooling in his own eyes. "You don't have to apologize. I always knew your heart wasn't mine to keep. If you want to go to him, I'll handle everything here. Taehi will be okay."
Jimin thanks him, his heart feeling lighter but then he heard it - Taehi
Taehi's small voice drifted from her bedroom. "Appa..." she murmured in her sleep.
The word shattered him. He stood there, torn between the love he had lost and the family he had built.
Jungkook's words from earlier echoed in his mind: "Come, let's run away."
"I wish..." Jimin whispered, his voice barely audible. "I wish I could. But I can't."
**
When Jungkook came to see him one last time, Jimin broke down in his arms. They held each other tightly, their tears mingling, the love they still shared aching in their chests.
"Maybe in our next life" Jimin whispered, pressing his forehead against Jungkook's.
Jungkook nodded, his own tears falling freely. "Maybe in our next life."
They parted for the final time, both knowing they would carry the memory of each other for the rest of their lives.
**
As Jimin tucked Taehi into bed that night, she stirred awake, reaching for him.
"Appa?" she murmured, her sleepy smile warming his heart.
Jimin kissed her forehead, his tears falling silently. "Yes, sweetheart. I'm here."
And though his heart still ached for Jungkook, Jimin knew he had made the right choice.
In another life, maybe their love would have had a chance. But in this one, Jimin chose the family who needed him most.
**
"Are you fcking serious?!" Jungkook's eyes are wide with frustration "...this isn't fair to anyone. I hate this movie..I hate you Tae..."
Taehyung chuckles "I already have a sequel planned for this but the producer said he will think about it based on the response to this... so... let's see.."
"Really?! Then okay... Jimin! Let's get on the love gone Facebook page and ask people's opinions and see...."
Jimin chuckles "You are crazy! This is just a movie!"
Jungkook fumes "Movie or not, Jimin belongs to Jungkook!"
Taehyung laughs as he stands up and excuses himself
"Good luck Jibooty!"
Jimin gulps as he realizes what Taehyung meant
Jungkook smirks "What were you saying before?"
"Yes! I will help you with the Facebook..."
"Good. But first maybe you can help me with something else"
"Sure... what is it?"
"Let me show you..." Jungkook says throwing Jimin over his shoulder, making Jimin gasp as he walks them to their bedroom "Let's get it!" He says smacking Jimin's ass
