The moment his mother uttered the words, "Jungkook is marrying A/N" Jimin forgot how to breathe.

Jimin's heart pounded. "W-what?" His voice was barely a whisper.

His mother's expression remained unreadable. "A/N is pregnant."

Jimin's stomach twisted violently.

His father sighed. "She is carrying a child, and for the family's honor, she must marry into the Jeon family."

Jimin turned to A/N, his little sister, who sat quietly with her hands resting on her stomach. She wouldn't meet his gaze.

His lips parted, but no words came out.

His entire body was trembling as he turned back to Jungkook.

"Jungkook..." His throat burned. "Is it... yours?"

Silence.

A long, suffocating silence that made Jimin want to scream.

"That doesn't matter, Jimin. What matters is that A/N and the child are protected..." Jimin's father spoke

Jimin turned back to A/N, confused, hurt.

"Why are you doing this?"

A/N finally looked up, her eyes rimmed red. Her lips parted, but the words caught in her throat.

It was their mother who answered for her.

"She is too young to raise this child alone, Jimin. She needs a husband. The baby needs a father."

Jimin stared at his sister. "A/N... is that what you want?"

A/N's lips trembled.

"I... I don't know" she whispered. "I just... they said the baby needs a name on the birth certificate. That people will judge me, that... that I'll ruin everything."

Jimin's breath hitched. "A/N..."

She swallowed, shaking her head. "I just want my baby to be okay."

Jimin clenched his fists. "Do you love Jungkook?"

A/N let out a shaky breath, looking down. "No."

Jimin froze. "Then why..."

"Because they scared me, Jimin!" A/N finally broke, her voice rising. "They said if I don't do this, the baby will suffer. That I'll regret it for the rest of my life."

Jimin turned back to Jungkook, searching his face, desperate.

"Jungkook, you don't have to do this."

Jungkook exhaled shakily, finally looking up. His eyes were filled with quiet devastation.
