The air inside the grand mansion was thick with tension. A man lay on the floor, his body limp, blood pooling beneath him. The scent of death lingered, yet Jeon Jungkook, the mafia king, remained unmoved, his eyes locked onto the men kneeling before him.

"Did you really think..." he spoke, voice eerily calm "...that you could betray me and live to tell the tale?"

His fingers traced the trigger of his gun, a quiet warning that sent shivers down spines.

**

Park Jimin stood just a few steps behind Jungkook. Unlike the trembling men before them, his delicate features remained untouched by fear.

"Boss" Jimin finally spoke, his voice soft, almost hesitant. "The meeting with the Russians is in an hour. You should get ready."

Jungkook lowered his gun. His head turned slightly, his sharp gaze meeting Jimin's. It was the only moment he showed any sign of humanity - his cold expression softened just a little, only for him.

"Take care of this mess" he ordered, before walking past the trembling men. The moment he left, the room released a breath it had been holding.

Jimin lingered for a moment, glancing down at the lifeless body before following his boss.

The past

Jimin never belonged in Jungkook's world.

He was soft, gentle, too bright for a kingdom built on blood and violence.

But fate had a cruel sense of humor.

Jimin had been working as a secretary at a small finance firm, trying to build a normal life. He had always believed in kindness, in hard work

Until the night everything fell apart.

It happened fast.

One moment, he was staying late at the office, finishing reports. The next, masked men stormed in, dragging his boss out at gunpoint.

Jimin had been frozen in shock as gunfire rang through the halls. He barely had time to react before a man, dressed in all black, dark eyes sharp as a blade, stepped through the chaos like a god of death.

Jungkook.

Jimin would never forget the way Jungkook had looked at him that night.

Cold. Unfeeling. A predator studying something small and breakable.

"Take him" Jungkook had ordered.

And just like that, Jimin's life was no longer his own.

**

Jimin had been locked in Jungkook's mansion for days.

He wasn't tortured, wasn't mistreated but he wasn't free either.

"Why am I here?" he had demanded on the third day, standing in Jungkook's office.

Jungkook had barely glanced at him. "Your boss stole from me."

Jimin frowned. "I have nothing to do with that."

Jungkook's gaze lifted then, dark and assessing. "No" he said, tilting his head. "But you're interesting."

"I'm not some pet you can keep."

Jungkook smirked. "Aren't you?"

Jimin hated the way his heart pounded at those words.
