Avril followed Valkyrie, Tanith and Skulduggery as they led her outside the doors of the Sanctuary.
"Close your eyes," Valkyrie instructed, and Avril did so, a smile stretching across her face. "While you and Tanith were getting patched up, me and Skulduggery burned Jess's body and we may have done something else while we were at it," Valkyrie continued, guiding Avril down the stairs.
"What did you do?" The blonde haired girl asked.
"Shhh," Valkyrie replied. "You'll soon find out."
"God Valkyrie the suspense is killing me!"
"Hush!"
Avril sighed and let Valkyrie direct her. Then she heard Valkyrie telling her to stop, so she did.
"Okay, you can open your eyes now," Valkyrie said. Avril did as she was told, and gasped. Her Porsche was parked on the side of the road, gleaming. It had been repainted a shiny yellow that reflected the sun, and it was beautiful. Her eyes filled with tears as she turned to Valkyrie, who was smiling. Avril enveloped her in a hug, which Valkyrie returned.
"Thank you so much Val! This is amazing!"
"It was no problem."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Skulduggery helped."
Avril broke away from Valkyrie and wrapped her arms around Skulduggery who hugged her back.
"Thank you," she breathed softly. "What can I ever do to repay you?"
"Don't worry about it," Valkyrie said with a wave of her hand. "This is my apology to you for accusing you of trying to get rid of me. And for what me and Tanith did you your Porsche in the first place."
"Yeah, sorry about that," Tanith said.
"That's okay, I would've done the same thing if it happened to me."
"We're gonna miss you Avril."
"Valkyrie..."
"You don't need to repay any of us. Just go and find someplace great. Meet somebody amazing, live your life to the fullest."
"Thank you so much Valkyrie. I'll never forget this you know. If you ever need anything..."
"I think I'll be okay. But thanks, I appreciate it heaps," she said with a smile.
"Bye everybody," Avril said. And that was their goodbye. Avril gave Tanith a hug too, and hopped in her car.

The last time Valkyrie Cain ever saw Avril Saffron was when she had driven off. All Valkyrie could see now, was the tail lights of the Porsche as the pretty blonde girl left. Left their lives forever. She should have been happy. Happy that Avril was gone. But she wasn't. Valkyrie felt a pang of guilt that she'd hardly gotten to know Avril better. Felt guilty of how she'd treated her. She turned to Skulduggery and Tanith.
"Is that it?" She asked. "Is it over?"
"I think so," Skulduggery said. Valkyrie breathed out.
"I feel bad."
"Why?"
"Because of the way I treated Avril these last few days. We never really got to know each other."
"Valkyrie, you don't have to feel bad. It all worked it okay in the end, for all of us, not including Jessica."
Valkyrie smiled.
"You know, you have an interesting choice in partners."
"Where have I heard that before?"
Valkyrie grinned. "Can we go home now?" She asked.
"Yes," Skulduggery said. "Yes we can."

Stay tuned guys!! It's not the end yet!!!
