Takemichi POV
I needed air.
Mikey had been acting strange lately—quieter, more distant. I could tell he was carrying something heavy, something he wasn’t telling me. And maybe it was stupid, but I wanted to give him space. So while he stood by the shoreline, lost in his thoughts, I wandered off, hoping a walk would clear my mind too.
The streets were quieter than usual, the soft glow of streetlights barely illuminating the empty roads. I had no real destination, just an urge to move, to feel the cold air against my skin.
Then, I heard footsteps.
At first, I ignored them. It wasn’t weird for people to be out at this hour. But when the sound quickened, matching my pace, an uneasy feeling crept up my spine.
I turned around—just in time to see a van screech to a stop beside me.
"What the—?" I barely had time to react before strong arms grabbed me, yanking me backward.
I struggled, kicking and thrashing, but whoever they were, they were prepared. A rough hand clamped over my mouth, muffling my shouts as they dragged me inside. The van door slammed shut, sealing me in darkness.
Panic surged through me.
Who were these guys?!
"Man, he’s a fighter." One of them chuckled, amused.
"He should be. He’s important, after all." Another voice, colder, more calculated. "Izana was right. We take him, and Mikey falls apart."
My blood ran cold.
Izana.
This wasn’t just a random kidnapping. This was planned. And worse—these guys weren’t just some street thugs. They were part of something bigger. Something Mikey didn’t even know existed.
I thrashed harder, desperation clawing at my chest. I had to get out of here. I had to warn Mikey.
But as the van sped off into the night, all I could think about was one terrifying truth:
Mikey didn’t even know I was gone.

The night before kidnapping3rd Person POV
Laughter filled the air, the sound of clinking bottles and playful banter echoing through the small house they were staying in. The night was warm, the atmosphere light. For the first time in a while, there were no fights, no threats—just them, just friends and family enjoying each other’s company.
Chifuyu leaned back on the couch, grinning as he nudged Baji. "Oi, Baji, remember that time you tried to impress that girl at the ramen shop and ended up knocking over an entire tray of bowls?"
Baji scoffed, crossing his arms. "Tch, that wasn’t my fault! The floor was slippery!"
Draken laughed, shaking his head. "Yeah, sure it was."
Yza, sitting comfortably beside Takemichi, chuckled. "Takemitchy, you should’ve seen it! Baji looked like he was about to cry."
"Oi! I did not!" Baji huffed, but the grin on his face betrayed his amusement.
Mikey sat among them, a small smile on his lips. For a moment, he let himself forget about the weight on his shoulders. Being here with them—Draken, Baji, Chifuyu, Takemichi, and even Yza—made him feel like things were normal again. Like they were kids again.
But the warmth in his chest wavered.
A sudden heaviness settled over him, a feeling he couldn’t quite place. The laughter around him faded into background noise as something tugged at his chest, a quiet unease creeping in. He took a deep breath, staring at his drink before silently setting it down.
Draken caught the shift immediately. "Mikey?"
Mikey blinked and gave a small shake of his head, forcing a smirk. "I just need some air. Don’t trash the place while I’m gone."
Chifuyu snorted. "No promises."
Mikey gave one last glance at the group before quietly stepping out, the cool night air greeting him as he made his way toward the shoreline. The sound of waves in the distance was calming, but it did nothing to ease the weight pressing down on him.
Back inside, Takemichi had noticed Mikey’s sudden departure. He glanced toward the door, a small frown on his face. Something felt…off. But he also knew Mikey—if he needed space, it was best not to push him.
Still, an odd feeling weighed at him, and after a few minutes, he stood. "I think I’ll go for a quick walk too."
Yza raised a brow. "Takemitchy, you sure? It’s late."
Takemichi smiled. "I’ll be fine, just need some fresh air."
He waved at them before heading out, unknowingly walking straight toward his fate.
Because while Mikey was lost in his thoughts at the shoreline, Takemichi was walking straight into the night.
And into the hands of those waiting for him.
