A few hours later, I wake up and see Sal sitting on a chair next to the bed.
He's got his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands.
"Sal?" I say croakily.
"Hey, you're awake." He forces a smile and rubs my back.
"Where's our baby?"
A tear rolls down his cheek and he takes his glasses off and wipes his eyes.
He takes both of my hands, holds them tightly and looks straight into my eyes. His voice is shaky "It was a still born."
"No!" I scream "No! NO!"
I punch the bed and he grabs me and strokes my hair to calm me down.
