I walked to my office down the hall, eager to get out of this Red dress and pick up some files I had forgotten. I had just got back from a party with the councillors and other high society members, where I gave a grand speech about being the first chief of police and how I would help protect the citizens, keep crime in check, and so on.

Toph: "Dame politics."

I placed my hand on the door knob as I got to my office but I hesitated, something felt off yet I couldn't seans or see anyone. I opened the door and went to the bag I had stored there for a quick change. I walked past the files on my desk, rubbing my hand over them and feeling the engraved letters.

Toph: "Yep, those are the ones."

I continued to the bag when I suddenly heard someone on my chair.

???: "So, the first chief of police, huh?"

It was so sudden that I reacted on instinct, using my bending I whipped the spare cables I kept in my office towards the voice trying to apprehend the perp only to find an empty chair. How the hell did I miss him, that was when it suddenly clicked and I recognised him I smirked but hid it well.

Toph: "You really need to stop doing that."

Y/N: "Oh, but it's too much fun. I love surprising a blind woman who can pretty much see through walls with vibrations alone."

Toph: "And you still won't tell me how you basically become non-existent."

Y/N: "Ah, we all have our secrets. Besides..."

He walked from a corner and made his way to me. Got up close, so much so I had to lean back on the desk, my arms supporting me. He stroked my cheek with his finger.

Y/N: "You're not complaining; it just makes me that good at... Infiltration!... Helps you solve a lot of cases, does it not?"

I slightly lifted one leg through the slip of my long dress, brushing against his leg, then slightly wrapping around it, pulling him closer, our lips almost brushing. I gently trace his arm with my hand teasing him.

Toph: "It is useful... That is, until you decide to become a creep with it."

I pushed him back playfully. He chuckled, raising his arms in a mock surrender.

Y/N: "That's a bit mean. It doesn't last long enough on you for me to be a creep. I mean, I already know you sensed something the moment you got to your door."

Toph: "So you just come for a visit."

Y/N: "Of course, couldn't wait anymore, had to see your beautiful face."

Toph: "Flatter."

Y/N: "I also got something for you."

He pulled some files from his back and flopped them on the desk.

Y/N: "The latest case you asked for help with. Lee, the Don of the Salamanders gang, you might be able to bust him on his illegal shipping imports through Fun Time Sekka."

Toph: "Sekke? The factory sweet owner? How will I be able to bust a crime boss through sweets?"

Y/N: "That's just one of his businesses, and the most widely known one, so much so that most of his other small businesses fly under the radar of the police and mass public, one such business is a small shipping company, it's to save him some costs on transporting his goods, turned out his a lot more greedy than you think. Get this he's been seen having regular dinner dates with none other than Don Lee. So after some poking around I have discovered that our dear Sekke helps Don Lee transport his illegal goods but discussed it as sweets, you know hidden bottom of the box and all. Bust one of his factories, and you can tie them all together. Heard of a shipment coming in over the week. I'll keep a lookout and let you know when it gets here. you can bust him then."

Toph: "You are brilliant."

Y/N: "I know, thank you. what would you do without me, I do get a prize for all my hard and tirelss effort don't I?"

I walk over to him and give him a kiss.

Y/N: "I hope that's just the starters?"

Toph: "Cheeky basterd."

He laughed then placed a hand on my cheek, I leaned into his touch then covered his hand with mine. I could sense his heartbeat, feel it through the vibrations of his hand, it was... Warm.

Y/N: "In all seriousness, I've missed you terribly; a month away is too long."

Toph: "I've missed you, too."

Y/N: "You want to change, then get out of here? We can grab some dinner."

Toph: "I'd love that."

Y/N: "I'll give you a little privacy then."

He leand in and gave me a kiss on the cheek then left, after a quick change We went to dinner and spent the rest of the night together.
