Holly escorted me back to Ares's room, well, now my room, too.

"Have a good night, Luna," She closed the door and I turned around but he wasn't there.

I looked around and finally spotted him on the balcony. He was just standing there, staring off into space with his shoulders hunched. He looked tired.

Very hesitantly I joined him on the balcony.

"Everything okay?" I spoke first.

He gave a simple nod.

We stood in silence for a long time but I glanced at him now and then. Why did he have to be so good-looking? It would be easier if he wasn't.

The silence was so loud it was killing me so I blurted out the first thing that came to my mind.

"So, what's your favorite color?"

I mentally slapped myself for saying something so stupid. But I didn't know anything about him, although it was already as if I knew him my whole life.

His fingers twitched.

"Black." No surprise there.

"What's your favorite animal?"

"Wolf." Another not surprise.

I decided to get more creative so he would have to say more than one word.

"If you were stuck on an island for a month and could only bring one thing, what would it be?"

"Why are you asking me all these questions?" He answered my question with a question. I crossed my arms and leaned on the railing. I heard a distant howl ring through the air.

"Because if we're 'mates' then we should try to at least know something about each other." I explained my reasoning.

Ares didn't reply.

I opened my mouth but he spoke over me.

"Who was your first kiss?" He asked, very serious and my face started reddening. I was so stunned, I almost didn't hear him.

"I. . . I haven't been kissed. Yet." I stuttered and looked away, not having the courage to meet his eyes and admit this.

"Why not?" Why was he asking me this?

"You obviously know why. I'm average, I'm just a normal girl-" I was interrupted by an impatient scoff.

"That's not why."
