Jimmy must be strong... Toast thought, remembering the horror that had flashed in Ghost's eyes. Toast continued down the road, stopping at a small hotel. He walked in, greeted by a large man.
"Hello Mister! How can I help you?" The man asked from behind the counter."Hi, uh- I need a room for the night!" Toast stuttered nervously. The man nodded, handing him a key.
"Alright, that will be upstairs and to the left!" The man told him.
"T-thanks." Toast exclaimed, running up stairs. He walked down the hall until he reached his room. Room 40... Toast though, looking up at the numbers. He unlocked the door, quickly opening the door. He slipped in the room, closing the door behind him. Toast sat down on the bed. I feel terrible for leaving him... Toast thought, putting his face in his hands. Toast heard a knock.
"Come in." He sighed. Nobody answered. What is this, a prank? Toast asked himself, walking over to the door. He looked through the peep hole to see absolutely nothing.
"What a joke!" He heard a voice behind him laughed. He turned to see a man that look very much like himself.
"Who are you?!" Toast exclaimed backing up.
"Why you, of course!" his other self laughed. Toast felt a wave of horror wash over him.
"What do you want?" Toast questioned. His other self giggled.
"To make a deal."
"What is it?"
"It's simple! You exchange a small part of your soul for powers like you never imagined." His other self explained. Toast nodded thoughtfully looking into his other self's light green eyes, which seemed to be glowing..
"How do I know I can trust you?" Toast asked cautiously.
"Well, I'm you! But wait! If you can't trust yourself, who can you trust?"
Jimmy laughed insanely as he cut into the man's stomach, blood gushing everywhere. He stopped a moment to hear the man still breathing.
"Still alive are ya?" Jimmy questioned, looking into the man's blank hazel eyes. The man didn't respond. Jimmy leaned back, watching quietly as the man tried to get up. Jimmy punched the man in the face, causing him to go spiraling back down to the ground. Jimmy grabbed his knife, plunging it into the man's chest one more time. He watched as the man's body went limp. Jimmy sunk his teeth into the man's shoulder, enjoying the taste that filled his mouth. He heard Ghost gag. What's wrong Ghosty? Can't handle it? Jimmy thought. Ghost didn't answer. Jimmy just shrugged, camouflaging himself in the shadows. He noticed Ghost's skin becoming more like his own. I'm finally getting to you... Jimmy thought happily to himself. Jimmy decided he was done for the night, stopping at 30 kills. Ghost woke up in a dark ally, covered in blood.
"DANG IT!!!"Ghost cried, looking down at himself. He could taste the fresh taste of blood in his mouth. I need to find Johnny! Ghost thought to himself.
See what we can do when we work together? Jimmy laughed with glee. Ghost scowled with great disgust. He hailed a taxi.
"Were is it you need to go?" The driver asked him, looking in the mirror so he could view Ghost.
"I need to get to the nearest gas station, if you would." Ghost told him, leaning back in his seat. The man shrugged, starting the ignition. They went speeding down the road. Ghost looked back on everything that had happened. They reached the gas station. Ghost thanked and paid the man, then walking to the telephone. I hope he answers... Ghost thought, dialing Toast's number. He heard some static before his friends voice answered.
"Hello? Sir?"
"Hey Johnny! Could you come pick me up?" Ghost asked, looking around awkwardly.
"Uh... y-yeah! Just tell me where you are." Toast stuttered into the phone.
"The gas station on Jefferson... and make it quick..." Ghost told him, noticing some odd glances.
"Yes Sir!" Toast exclaimed. Ghost ended the phone call. Ghost zipped up his hoodie. As he zipped up his hoodie he noticed something different about himself. Since when was my skin so pale? Ghost asked himself, looking at his hands. He heard Jimmy giggle. Ghost rolled his eyes walking over to the side of the road. He was met by a cop.
"Hello, may I have a word with you for a minute?" The cop asked. Ghost nodded, turning towards the cop.
"May I ask where you were at the time of 10:00pm tonight?" The cop questioned, looking at Ghost.
"I was walking around town with my friend." Ghost lied, looking downwards.
"And may I ask why you are covered in blood?" The cop asked suspiciously. Ghost froze. Oh no! Ghost thought to himself.
"W-well you see, officer. Me and my friend were attacked." Ghost told him.
"And where is he?" he questioned. Ghost hammed it up, forcing himself to cry.
"H-he... he died, trying to save me..." Ghost sniffled, fake tears rolling down his cheeks.
"Oh... I'm sorry kid. Did you get hurt at all, and what was your friends name?"
"Jake O'Conners, and y-yeah..." Ghost sighed, rolling his sleeve up. His forearm was cut badly.
"Oh my goodness..." The cop exclaimed, pulling out a small med kid from his huge jacket. Ghost held his breath nervously as the cop wrapped his arm with gauze. The cop began to chat with him as he continued to patch up Ghost.
"What did your friend look like?"
"He had red ombre hair and hazel eyes." Ghost told him, remembering the way the man looked.
"Oh well you know, I thought you were someone else." The cop told him.
"Yeah? Who?" Ghost questioned, looking into the cops brown eyes.
"A murderer, he call himself Jimmy Casket." The cop sighed, looking up. Ghost's heart skipped a beat.
"R-really?" Ghost questioned, seeing his van out the corner of his eye.
"I got to go." Ghost exclaimed, speed walking over to the van.
"Wait!" the cop exclaimed. This time both Ghost and Toast looked at him.
"Who is this man?" the cop questioned. Toast quickly came up with an idea.
"He's my... fiancé, officer." Toast told the cop, earning a look from Ghost.
"Oh! Well then... good luck guys!" The officer exclaimed, walking to his car. Ghost hopped in the car, his face red, and not just from the blood. Toast slammed on the gas, speeding down the road.
"Fiancé, Johnny?" Ghost sighed. Toast shrugged, his face turning light pink. They later pulled into the driveway. Toast quickly unlocked the door, letting Ghost in quickly. Toast closed the door, gasping at how filthy Ghost was.
"Sir! Can you go wash off please?" Toast sighed, pointing upstairs. Ghost ran upstairs. He closed his door behind him. He took off his hoodie, setting it in the sink. He began to lick the blood off his arm. The taste some how soothed him. Ghost realized what he was doing. What... what has become of me?! Ghost cried to himself. He looked in the mirror. I'm even starting to look like him... Ghost thought examining himself in the mirror.
