Ghost looked up at Toast, who was now asleep next to him. Ghost let out a small sigh, looking around the house. It seemed safe enough, and besides, there was no way someone wanted to hurt him. Right? After all, Jimmy did like to play pranks on him, and Toast often took things way too seriously. Ghost looked around for another moment or so before slowly standing up, being sure not to disturb Toast as he walked up the stairs and into his room. He hadn't looked at himself in a while, so he figured now was an ok time to visit the demon in the mirror. Ghost took a deep breath, hesitantly stepping in the doorway. The lights flickered, revealing his pale reflection. Ghost's eyes widened. He didn't look nearly as bad as he had expected. More human and less... well... crazy? As he took a closer look at his face, he noticed something strange forming behind him. Ghost turned around quickly, expecting it to be Jimmy. To his dismay, it wasn't. He had seen this creature before, and he remembered that it had caused a lot of trouble. Boxfriend, was it?
"Why the he-... why do you keep bothering me?" Ghost questioned, being sure to keep his voice down.
"I've told you before Gregory! We're brothers and we need to go home!" the box exclaimed. Ghost rolled his eyes.
"Just leave." Ghost ordered. The box looked angry. Very angry.
"That's it! If you're not gonna come with me, I'll make you!" it growled. Ghost gasped in horror as a large red vortex opened behind him. He latched onto the doorframe as the suction pulled his legs out from under him causing him to levitate.
"Johnny!" Ghost screeched. He was being pulled so hard that he could feel his nails beginning to tear off. It was some of the worst pain he had ever felt. Ghost couldn't hold on any longer. That was until he felt something grab his hand, pulling him out of the vortex and out into the. It was Toast.
"What the hell was that?!" Toast exclaimed, slamming the door.
"I don't even know! But... thanks for saving me. I guess you really don't want to get decapitated by Jimmy, huh?" Ghost chuckled, rubbing the back of his head nervously.
"...among other reasons. Anyways, we need to get out of here." Toast sighed. Ghost nodded in agreement. He adjusted his hoodie as they quickly ran down the stairs and out the door. They got in the van, starting it up. The zoomed down the street. Ghost began to think.
"So... why?" Ghost muttered.
"What do you mean, Sir?" Toast questioned, frowning.
"Why do you always risk your life to save mine? You have so much more to live for than I do." Ghost asked. Toast's eyes widened in surprise and gasped.
"That's absurd! Why wouldn't I save you? You're my best friend! In fact, you're the most amazing friend I've ever had!" Toast told him. Ghost's jaw dropped. He never knew that Toast thought of him so highly. He thought that Toast just saw him as someone he tolerated. Ghost's lip began to tremble as tried his hardest not to let a few tears slip out. As goofy as it may sound, he actually felt honored.
"T-thank you so much, Johnny." Ghost whispered, resting his head on Toast's shoulder. Toast smiled, wrapping one of his arms around him. Ghost smiled.
"So... I was thinking that since our house is being destroyed by a giant vortex, we could just go somewhere else. Preferably somewhere nice and relatively peaceful." Toast explained. Ghost nodded.
"Where are we going?" Ghost questioned.
"We can go wherever you want to go, Sir." Toast told him, shrugging. Ghost thought for a moment.
"...lets go to the park. It'll be nice to spend some time outside." Ghost mumbled. Toast nodded. The two drove off, not looking back even once. That was all behind them... for now.
