Chapter 6- Free
(2 weeks later)*Kensi's POV*
I walked out of the hospital with a smile on my face. I was finally going home. I had 57 stitches in different places, and I couldn't go back to work for a couple weeks, but otherwise I was happy.
Deeks was leaning against my car waiting for me on the curb.
"Looks who's finally free." He grinned.
"Look who finally took a shower." I retorted, referring to the week he spent barely leaving the hospital, sleeping on the chair in my room, and complaining how his delicate back couldn't handle sleeping in such an awkward position, so he should be able to climb into bed with me.
"Oh great you noticed! I knew this new body wash worked wonders on the ladies."
"Oh God... Keep telling yourself that." I laughed.
We got in the car, and he soon pulled up in front of my house. We got out, and he walked me in.
"Damn Kens, you really need a maid." Deeks exclaimed, staring in horror at my messy apartment.
"I did have one. She quit though."
"I dont blame her."
"My apartment is not that bad."
"Kensi, your apartment is so messy, coachroaches are too scared to live here, and they can survive nuclear bombs."
"Did a car just pull up in front?" I asked, changing the subject.
"What?" Deeks pulled back the curtain slightly. "Shit. We have company."
He drew his gun, and I grabbed one from a nearby drawer. Three men with guns were approaching the house.
"Call Sam and Callen. Quick." Deeks commanded. I clicked on their speed dial frantically. The men were getting closer.
"Callen." He answered.
"You guys need to get over to my place. Three guys with guns are coming up the yard."
"On our way. Be careful." Callen warned, and I hung up.
"They're on their way."
We were crouched behind the kitchen counter. I heard the men talking in front of the door. Suddenly it flew open, and bullets rained throughout the house. I leaned over, and took a few shots. I hit one of them in the nondominat shoulder. Deeks shot the same guy in the chest, and he buckled to the ground, most likely dead.
We exchanged shots for a few long minutes before the guns stopped. I slowly peeked around the corner. Three guys were lying on my carpet, dead or unconscious. Deeks and I stood up.
"What the hell was that?" He asked, looking shocked.
"Probably the other guys on Peters team. I remember the Hispanic one. He was only there once though.
Just then, Sam and Callen's black Charger came to a screeching stop in front of my apartment.
"Are you guys okay? What happened?"
"Were fine." I replied.
"No youre not!" yelled Sam, pointing to a dark red spot spreading across on my abdomen.
'"Damnnit! One of my stitches must of come undone," I lifted up my t-shirt to examine the wound. "Oh good, it's not one of the bad ones. It will stop bleeding soon."
"I can stitch that up real quick. Got a first aid kit?" Sam sigh.
Sam stitched me back up again, and then went to go take care of the three dead people lying in my lifing room. Meanwhile, I packed a suitcase, and Deeks drove me to his apartment where I would be staying until my wounds healed.
