Levi

I love you, Eren mouthed to me before dropping my hand and darting away from me.

After Erwin signaled for us to attack the rest moved like a blur. Recons began storming the Titan's hold like ants upon an insect carcass. The two or three Titan's standing outside began hurriedly scrambling inside to alert the rest of their gang. A small group of Recons took out most of them out save for one who managed to retreat into the Titan stronghold.

"Quickly!" Erwin commanded, "We can't give them time to regroup!" Recons began tearing apart the boarded up windows and doors, storming the apartment and ransacking the entire place. A few renegade Titans unsuccessfully attempted to slow down our advancements but were quickly taken out.

This was turning out to be a lot easier than we'd anticipated. Far too easy.

"Eren?" I called out, looking around for the boy. He'd gotten lost in the fray, separating himself from me, "Eren?! Where are you?"

Shitty brat, you promised to stay beside me. I pushed through the crowded mass, searching tirelessly for him but with no avail.

The number of Titan attacks had diminished to a suspiciously low amount. Recons had managed to overtake the entire building without too much of a struggle.

Them it hit me.

"Erwin!" I screamed, my voice was high and panicked, "Goddamn it, Eren?!" I raced through the the hallways and inter workings of the Titan stronghold. I shoved aside Recons in my struggle to find at least one of the two. The adrenaline coursing through my veins blocked out the burning pain in my joints from sprinting every which way.

Finally I spotted Erwin and Mike talking beside the entrance. A worried and confused expression adorned his face. He caught sight of me racing towards him and his frown deepened.

"Levi? What's wrong?"

"It's a trap," I panted, "They knew we were coming. They're going to trap is all in the base and kill us all off."

"I thought I there was a suspicious lack of Titans. The ones we've been facing must have been weaker members of the gang. Bait for us to think we're winning," He turned to Mike, "Help me alert the others to fall back. We need to get out of here as soon as-"

A gunshot wailed outside, cutting him off mid-sentence. Titans of every shape and size surrounded us in every direction, cornering us in our lowly tomb. I heard Erwin call out for us to fall back, but by the time the order was issued it was too late.

Titans charged the building. Knives and guns brandished at their sides to cut us all down one by one. Recons attempted to escape, kicking out windows and doors so they could fight in a less confined environment. I looked around frantically searching for a familiar pair of scorching green eyes.

But I found none. My heart sank in my chest as I turned to explore deeper within the stronghold.

"Levi where are you going?!" Erwin grabbed my wrist, "They'll trap you inside and kill you if you go in there. You need to get out!"

I shook my head and pulled out of his grasp, "Eren is in there."

Erwin's expression softened and he nodded an acknowledgment. I spun around and dashed through the crowded mess of Recons trying to break out of their prison.

"Eren?!" I screamed, "Damnit where are you?!"

"Levi?" I heard a soft voice from behind a wall and my heart fluttered.

"Eren!" I gasped chasing the soft, sweet sound of his voice. I pushed aside a cowering Recon and entered a small room. A dark red stain marred the dirty carpet. A man's lifeless form lay unmoving in a pool of blood, trickling from the gaping wound in his chest. The man's killer towered over the lifeless corpse frozen with emotion. Blood covered his trembling hands, still gripping the blade for dear life. The killer looked up at me with wide green eyes.
