On the fourth week of August, all of the team members were back to work at the HQ. Seb had to do a simulator training on Monday and Tuesday, before they flew to Belgium on Wednesday. Usually, people didn't have much spirit to work on Monday. But it didn't happen in their team. They always had great spirit both on weekday and weekend.
On Monday, David drove Clara to the HQ. At first, she wanted to go there alone by taxi. But he refused it because he said that she looked a bit unwell. After they arrived, she said goodbye to him. But just before she walked out of the car, he pulled her left hand.
"Clara, I'm really serious. Are you okay?"
She nodded. "Yeah, I'm okay, dad."
"But since last Saturday, you seem a bit different. Usually, you are very active and you do so many things at home. But this morning, you-"
Clara cut him off. "Don't worry, dad. I'm just a little tired, probably, so I didn't do much things at home."
He understood but still warned her. "Okay. Please call me if something happens to you. And I think I'll pick you up after you finish your job."
Clara refused. "No, dad."
"Please. Only today, I promise. If tomorrow you look better, I'll let you come here alone."
She finally gave in. "Erm, okay. Thanks, dad, and take care."
"Anytime. Have a good day, sweetheart!"
Clara kissed his cheek before she went out from his car. In fact, she was feeling a little dizzy and fever. But she thought that it happened because she was tired, and she was sure that on the following day she would be better.
When Clara came inside the building, she saw Seb there and he was talking seriously to Adrian. She heard that they were discussing about the preparation for the Belgian GP race. Without a doubt, she walked closer to them.
"Hi, Seb! Good morning, Adrian!"
Seb glanced at her and smiled. "Hi, Clara!"
"Good morning. How are you, Clara?" Adrian asked after he shook hands with Clara.
"I'm fine, Adrian. To be honest, I miss this place so much."
"Good. I guess that you are ready to start the day."
"You're right," she smiled.
Adrian smiled back at her before he looked at Seb. "Seb, I want to look for Christian now."
"Okay. See you later, Adrian."
After Adrian was out of their sight, Clara glanced at Seb. She didn't realize that he was staring at her. "Clara, you look pale. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Seb, really."
"I don't believe you, Cla."
All of a sudden he touched her forehead with his palm. Then he moved it to her neck. But Clara tried to keep his hand away. "Seb, please, I'm okay."
Seb didn't believe her. "No. You get fever, Cla. How can you say that you are okay?"
She shrugged. "Because I feel I am."
"Don't be kidding. I'm serious, Cla."
Clara surely didn't want to lie at her parents and Seb. Her face and body had shown that she was unwell. But she didn't want them worrying her. She had to pretend as if she was fine. "Seb, look! I'm fine and I can't wait to work again with you and others here."
"But-"
"Come on! It's time for you to train, right?"
Seb finally gave in. "Alright. But if something happens, just tell me!"
