Lydia explained to her father, she wishes to continue the quest with Thorin, but Farin advised to his daughter that his best bet is for her to stay there, with her pregnancy condition.  "Don't you worry, Lydia.  You will be well taken care of here! And I will make sure nothing happens to you." said Farin. "I sure hope you are right, father." said Lydia with a sigh.   Lydia decided that night she would write to Thorin and let him know where she is at.  And she knew the news of her father still alive, will shock and surprise Thorin.  And that same night, she sat at her desk and began writing:

 Dearest Thorin,

I had to leave Beorn's because the Orcs had found out that I've been staying there.  For my own safety, Beorn had sent me away, and I'm now staying in Ered Mithrin.  My father Farin is alive, Thorin! Alive! I'm in Ered Mithrin now, as I am writing you this letter, and I will be here for a while, until you send for me.  I sure miss you a lot, Thorin! Maybe if my wander lust kicks in again, I will try and find you! (regardless of what condition I am in).

  Loving yours,
  Lydia Silverbeard.

Once Lydia finished her letter, she sealed it and she sent the letter with Raven, as Lydia instructed the raven to deliver the letter to Lake Town, hoping Thorin would be already there.

Lake Town

Thorin and the Dwarves had arrived in Lake Town, and there was a celebration that night, planned by the Master himself.  The Master also arranged a guest home for the Company, as they stayed there until the Feast that night.  Kili however is not feeling well,as he got injured severely after they escaped  from the dungeons of Mirkwood. And so Oin ended up keeping an eye on the young dwarf Prince, during their stay in the guest home.  Meanwhile, Thorin had just settled in his room, when suddenly a raven appeared in the window of his room.  Thorin took notice of the parchment in the raven's claws, as Thorin took the parchment.  Thorin knew this must had to been from Lydia.  Thorin quickly opened the letter and read it, and his eyes widened in surprise, especially after reading the news that Lydia's father is still alive.   Thank Mahal, she's in good hands now! Maybe she'll stay there until I come for her once we reclaim Erebor,  thought Thorin.    After that, Thorin went to join the rest of the Company in the common area, and he informed  the Company that Lydia has written to him, and he told them Lydia is doing fine, now that she has reunited with her father.

But deep down inside, Thorin had his doubts.  He had a bad feeling Lydia's family reunion isn't going to turn out as well he suspected.  He's acting nice to her now, but I have a feeling he may turn on her later down the road,  thought Thorin.   "Well, are you going to write her back, and tell her we made it to Lake Town?" asked Balin. "I will write to her after the feast tonight." said Thorin. Balin shook his head, and continued talking with his brother,Dwalin.    Later as the evening progressed, Thorin took his Company to the Feasting Hall where everyone gathered for the celebration.   Everyone had a great time, as there was much music and dancing going as well.  Suddenly, the Master stood up.  "Attention everyone! Tonight, I am going to introduce to you to my niece, Natasha! She is known around here for her great singing voice, and excellent dancing skills! And tonight, she will perform you one of her favorite songs! Hit it, lads!"  The Master said to the musicians standing nearby.  Soon as the musicians began to play a lively melody,  a beautiful young woman, who appeared in her early twenties, with long blonde hair and blue eyes stepped out and jumped onto a table and began dancing, as she started to sing:
