4 years later aka 2015

"Coming up next is Little Mix with their new single Love Me Like You. We'll be right back after the news." I spoke into my mic, pressed a button to start the song and then put off my headphones.

"Hey Beth, you did a good job this week" Leyla, my co-worker told me as I left the recording booth.
She was about my age but while I looked like some creepy punk kid with my lilac dyed hair, she had natural blonde hair and basically looked like a model.

"Thanks, you too." I smiled at her.

"Oh, by the way, Ryan wants to talk to you." she said. Ryan, aka Ryan Seacrest, was our boss.

"I think it's because he wants you to do the big interview on Monday with our secret special guests." Tom said, he also worked at the radio station with me and Leyla.

"You're kidding, right?" I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Why would I? I mean Ryan loves you, you're like a daughter to him." he stated and Leyla nodded in agreement before walking into the recording booth because it was her shift now.

"He loves all of us like his own children that he never had." I responded and it was true.

"That may be true but he still loves you a little bit more because you've only been here for less than a year." Tom countered again.

"Well I'll find out in a second." I smiled at him teasingly and left to go to Ryan's office.

"Bethany, finally! I have great news for you!" Ryan welcomed me as soon as I'd entered his little office room.

"What's up?" I smiled at him, trying to hide my nervousness.

"Remember how I told you and the others that we'll have some special guests here on Monday for an interview?" he asked and continued after I nodded.

"Well, I want you to do the interview. And before you ask why I chose you, it's because you have been here for a while now and I think it's time to let you do something... let's say, more interesting." he smiled proudly.

"I don't even know what to say now. Thank you so much for giving me this chance. Who am I going to interview then?"

"No need to thank me. And the special guests will be the guys from 5 Seconds of Summer so get some things prepared, questions or games or something. I don't care what you'll plan for them, I trust you and I know you'll do great. You'll have half an hour with them so use the time wisely."

"I will, thanks Ryan." I smiled excitedly.

"Great, see you on Monday then." he smiled as well and I took that as a sign to leave.

I walked back to the little staff room in which Tom was still sitting on the same chair as earlier.

"So?" he asked curiously.

"You were right, Ryan's letting me do the interview." I smiled widely and Tom jumped immediately to give me a hug.

"That's amazing, I told you!" he said into the hug and then let go again.

"Yeah, yeah. I have to go home now and prepare for the interview." I still smiled.

"You have the whole weekend, don't worry, you'll be just fine."

"Thanks, I hope so. See you on Monday then!"

"Yeah see ya!" he responded before I left.
