Jessie's POV

I hurried into my apartment and shut the door tightly behind me, but I couldn't help but look my peep hole to see if he was somehow following. Although, much to my disappointment, he was no where in sight. I frowned a bit and sighed softly. Why did he act that way? Or was I just to clingy already? Geeze, I really must not be good at meeting new people. No wonder he left so suddenly. However, I just felt...I don't know how to explain it. His eyes were the most beautiful shade of green I had ever seen, in yet they seemed so familiar. His accent was even a turn on, but then again when is an English accent not a turn on? I blushed a bit at my own stupid thoughts and began pouring myself a bowl of cereal.

After about an hour or so, I was dressed and ready to start my day. Although, I wasn't really sure how I would go about today since I hadn't planned anything. I pursed my lips a bit and glanced over at the newspaper that was laying innocently on the counter. "Guess..I might as well look for a new job. I mean, doing odd jobs around my old neighborhood isn't going to help me any anymore." I said quietly to myself as I picked up the newspaper, and turned to the job listings. My nose wrinkled a bit as I looked over the local jobs that were hiring, and I sighed quietly. This was something I didn't think I'd ever have to do. Looking through the classifieds seemed like something that I wouldn't do until I was at least twenty years older.

I mean, honestly, the jobs that were listed were things that either I couldn't do, I was to young and inexperienced to do, or even things I knew I couldn't stand to see myself doing.

Someone to clean up animal dropping at the zoo? No.

Delivering newspapers. Waking up before the crack of dawn for only little money? Heck no!

Someone looking for a house cleaner. Nope, I don't like to clean after myself let alone strangers.

McDonalds part time position. First off, I'm a vegetarian, so I refuse to touch meat. And second, I used to have a friend that worked there and she said it sickening.

Assistant at a bank. Now that could be something that I could do. I liked money, and I'm okay with numbers, so I guess this is worth checking out.

After I had brushed my teeth, and grabbed the backpack I always carried around, I picked up the newspaper and neatly folded it the paper so it was nearly sticking out of the front pocket of my backpack. I opened the door and shivered softly as a cold gust of wind blew my dark hair back. God, I really am starting to miss summer, I thought to myself as I stepped out and shut the door behind me. I made my way down the stairs and started walking down the sidewalk. Yes, I do have a car, and yes, it is cold outside, but I refuse to be one of those lazy people that can't handle a little walk when it's a little windy. Besides, it's only about a ten minute walk to the bank. Nothing big. I used to walk twenty-five minutes to school everyday, before I could drive, rain or shine, snow or windy. I had to walk through it all. This is nothing big. However, I did zip up my jacket a bit more to keep what little body heat I could manage in this weather. I rolled my eyes slightly and laughed a bit. Now I was beginning to should like a baby.

I shoved my hands into the pockets of my jacket and walked a bit faster since I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched. Weird right? Isn't that the feeling that you usually get before a white van pulls up behind you and someone pulls you in? Just the thought had me nervously chewing on my lip and letting my hair fall into my face. However, that didn't really work out since the wind kept blowing it back and making my nose practically numb.

Soon, my walking faster had turned into a jog. Usually, I never liked jogging since it was never my strong suit, but this time it actually felt good to jog. Not only had it made me warmer, but it also would make me get their faster. Finally, the bank came into view and I sighed with relief as I knew I'd be safe inside the bank. My foot steps carried me faster until I was actually inside of the bank and I shivered softly as the warm air surrounded me and made me realize just how cold I was from being outside.

I slowly pulled out the newspaper from my backpack and chewed on my lip softly as I saw an empty line. Could I really do this, or should I just turn back before I make a fool of myself? Either way, I knew I needed to get this over with. My parents couldn't support me forever, so I needed to get this job or another one. I took a deep breath and slowly walked over to the counter. Whenever I got the person's attention I smiled polite. "Um, hi. I'd like to apply for the job opening you have here."

The lady behind the counter looked me up and down while wrinkling her nose. She didn't even bother to hide the fact that she didn't like my style. Obviously, she was one of those blonds with blue eyes that I learned to hate in high school. "I'm sorry, we're not hiring."

"Okay, well, I saw the advertisement in today's newspaper," I said, and was fully prepared to fish the paper from my backpack to prove my words were true.

"I said, we are not hiring," She said through tight lips and her tone was sugar sweet. She looked at me as if I were the most disgusting thing in the world. Her name tag read Heather, and I mentally wrinkled my nose. That name, for some reason, made me dislike her instantly, but I didn't show that. I'd never get this job if I acted like that.

I resisted the urge to scream or do anything unprofessional like. "Alright, then. Mind if I pick up an application anyway? Just in case you have any positions open in the future," I said softly while trying to remember everything that I learned from high school about what you should do in these types of situations.

The lady rolled her eyes and reached under the desk then she practically tossed me a sheet of bent paper. "There. And just so you don't sit by the phone all day waiting for a call, we rarely have openings."

I smiled softly and shrugged. "It's alright. There's no reason I shouldn't just put an application in," I said and then walked over to where a bunch of people were sitting in chairs. I knew the moment I walked through the front door that she would probably end up throwing this in the trash. However, there was no harm in actually trying, and I loved seeing how frustrated she was that I wasn't getting angry at her bitchy behavior. I'm not that type of girl. I used to be, but after graduating high school I've made an effort to actually to try to put myself out there and make something of myself. It's hard, but I know I can do it.

After I saw down in a chair I took off my backpack and pulled a pen out of it. This backpack had pretty much anything that I would ever need whenever I left the house, and I've grown so used to having it I just didn't leave the house without it. I slowly began to fill out the paper while I listened to the crappy music that was softly playing from the speakers in the ceiling. It might have been an old radio station or something, but I couldn't to sure nor did I care much. I was just trying to distract myself from my surroundings. I could feel the blond behind the counter glaring at me, and I could hear the person sitting a couple seats away from me tapping their foot like crazy. Heck, I even knew that someone from across the room was staring at me, but I didn't take much notice to it. Boys always stared at me, but they never approached. I never thought much of it, however, and I still don't. If he's worth my time then he'll make the first move.

Everything that happened after that happened in a blur. I don't think anyone really noticed anything was going on until two shots from a gun were fired and a loud vaguely familiar voice screamed out from the doorway. "Everybody get down and don't move!"

A few people screamed and I saw a women cover her son's hears as she quickly tried to get them both to cover. I was frozen to my seat and I couldn't bring myself to get down as I stared at the robbers. I quickly put my backpack on my shoulders and clutched at the straps as I stared at the two figures just a few feet away from me.

They looked just like robbers did in movies. Dressed in all black with black ski masks on with light weight guns. But now that it was actually happening to me I couldn't help but think about how much different this was than a movie.

The robber that screamed locked eyes with me and began walking toward me. As he got closer I saw that  his eyes were a beautiful shade of green and I had to blink a few times to not stare at him in awe. However, my expression turned from wonder to fear as he stuck his gun to my head and jerked me up by my wrist.

"Come on. You're coming with me." He growled in my ear and began to jerk me away from my seat.

So..good..bad..? Tell me your thoughts! :D
