Two hands were holding my finger tightly, just before I opened my eyes. I let them squint open long enough to see who it was before sliding shut again. It was Steven.

"Hey buddy," he said.

I'd missed his voice. I'd missed him.

"I was getting worried about you." He continued. He had a single tear on his cheek. He looked so young, he hadn't aged one bit since I'd last seen him.

I hadn't seen his face since I left for college. That had been a while ago now. I wasn't completely sure how long it had actually been but I knew it had been a while.

"I've been keeping an eye on you as best I can buddy. It's been kind of hard obviously. I've just been worried, since what happened with dad and all.

"What happened with dad?" I asked him. My voice came out a whisper.

"He killed himself, Rowan. Where's your memory gone you idiot?" He asked me.

A nurse came through the doors, and Steven slowly disappeared, particles of his form disintegrating and rising up into nothing.
