Zeke wasn't in the cave when we returned.

"Zeke! Ezekiel where are you!" I yelled. There was no answer, Zeke always answers.

I take off in the direction I last remember him going. I could hear Francis calling after me but I was only focused on finding Ezekiel. I couldn't let another dragon fall at the hands of humans.

I could hear the water from the waterfall he mentioned. I ran as fast as I could. Francis chased after me, calling my name the entire time.

Zeke had to be there. Maybe he just fell asleep. Or he's busy diving underwater. Or he didn't hear me over the waterfall.

I rounded a corner and saw the waterfall I've been hearing. The white water fell an easy two-hundred feet.

I searched for him. For his midnight hide. My feet skid to a stop as I saw a flash of black.

"Zeke!" I yelled.

Another flash of black in the water had me running again. Francis yelled after me.

I'm about to dive in the water but Francis caught me. His jaws clamped around my hips. I fought him as best I could.

"Sam! Sam stop it!" Francis yelled at me, while he still held my hips. I thrashed, causing his teeth to get under my scales and draw blood.

He shifted so his back legs pinned my back end to the ground and his front legs pushed my shoulders to the ground. He was literally standing on me.

"Get off, Francis!" I scream at him.

"You need to calm down, Sam! I'm sure Zeke is alright. He probably just wondered a bit. You need to calm down." My brother said in my ear. "Zeke is just-" Francis suddenly cut off.

"What?" I ask. I couldn't move my head. Francis backed off a tiny bit so I could see.

I'll never forget what I saw.
